48 Years 2014

48 Years 2014

as time is closing in and the memory
is fleeting

but I’m still not ready for that final meeting

To dream more often and to wish for the best

So here we are at this stage of our lives

combating isolation and to flow with the rest

we should try to be happy

in lieu of being sad or mad

the clock is ticking faster

and time is now our master

just try and remember the good times

More now than ever the past engulfs me

I can relate to this insightful nostalgic poem Ralph. It is best to dwell on the happier times, I agree. : )

Thanks for your visit Ralph. I enjoyed giving this piece another read. I feel for people who are unable to cling to their memories.

I know this feeling; it is gray and so is its sway on my emotions, especially seeking me at night when I always fight to change the channel with such as your positive lines contain. At best it seems I have only bittersweet at times to accept. In meditation, I ponder the truth that my age is none of my business (that's where I think this memory-monster falsely comes from). You got me! All the best ... CayCay

I agree with richard. This is really melancholy. I do hope your situation does not feel this awful. I guess I am trying to be optimistic about the future I'll be facing as well.
