Just thirty-nine minutes show on my gauge!
I'm fifty feet down in the sea!
The boat above me has just pulled away!
Oh dear, what will happen to me?
I'm here with the fish now staring at me-
with goggles, an air tank, and fins.
And if I should surface, what can I do?
Oh God, I repent for my sins!
The value of air, I never thought of;
a must that will keep me alive.
Just twenty-one minutes show on this dial!
Why did I agree to this dive?
The days of my life now pass in my mind;
all taken for granted I'm sure.
Some used well, some not- yet knew I had more.
Now ten minutes left on life's tour.
Oh no, I am rising, arms swimming fast
in pushing the waves from my face!
My eyes open to an awesome surprise!
I wake- breathing air in this space.
My thirty-nine minutes was just a dream!
I'm thankful that this was not true!
But now I'll use time in much better ways;
much more joy in living- pursue!
