2 questions

A heavy weight, a bending knee,
Forever strong, or cease to be—

Damn this hatred for given time,
Love was a respite so sublime—

A choice I face, a chilling fear,
To break apart; or persevere,

Endless days, or final sleep,
Which promise would I rather keep?

A crack, a snap, my body's plea,
Would ending it make me more than free?

Forevermore; hell is a gilded cage,
I'm dust to dust on history's page
