I love thee
Thou day of my birth,
Thy sunrise was gentle on my mother’s womb;
Thy sunset rested on the crest of her heart with ease
I love thy stars
They sang as the heavens were opened
To release another legend into the earth,
Oh! Thy sun smiled at me as I cried when I arrived
I love thy tender drops
-The tender tears of the skies…sour but sincere
The skies wept because the heavens gave up a star
But mother earth was glad to receive a precious pilgrim
I love thee oh 29th of August
-The date of the dignified like MJ of Gary Indiana
And that of the saintly stars like Adeleke of Nigeria
I’m proud of thee thou date that danced with my destiny
