2700 Miles For Love

To see your face
Will be to know my heart,
And to find this dream
With such distance apart,
Was a story so sweet
That it made lover's cry
For whispers of promise
That will never die.

To know ones own heart
And how real it has felt,
Is to learn of a fate
That not many are dealt.
We live once and can't,
By mere matters of chance,
Give something so rare
Just one passing glance.

So I have taken a leap,
And my heart can now soar.
There is a light in my eyes
That had died out before.
I wish there were words
To express in this poem,
How when I lay in your arms,
I will finally be home.
