23:37

Out of the window are backs of houses
A faint sound of slow gutter-water
Outside is dry and crystal cold

The garden grass is black
Nets dull bedroom bulbs from sight
Altering shadows created by TV

Lamp posts turn the sky to crimson
Switch flicks amber to the right
Woman at window sets flesh free

Downstairs comes into view
Blue kitchen glows, a cold-cut feasting fright
Half naked man tears up poultry

Squares are filled with darkness
Lazy air is the only noise at midnight
Lights extinguish leaving low visibility

There is only black and red
There are no stars
