1 Asterisk*
An officer in his car patrolling the streets
Protecting the city while it sleeps
But be advised, there is one
Whose deviant acts are never done
Do not think they cannot see
The treasures that belong to the loved ones of thee
They wait for the most unexpected time
To carry out their egotistical crime
Then comes a loud bang that brings you sheer fright
You are asleep at home, in the middle of the night!
You are scared and you wonder ‘What is there to do?’
Call that lone officer, he will come to you
When the officer arrives, the criminal is concealed
But this is the specialty in the officer’s field
He makes sure that the citizen is safe and secure
And to make sure no injury or trauma was endured
The officer calls for backup, but none is en route
For a moment this causes confusion and doubt
He begins a clean sweep of the building alone
With no radio, partner or a cellular phone
Suddenly a shadow in front of him appears
He draws his weapon and draws the criminal to tears
After arresting the criminal and doing a frisk
The officer realizes there truly is, ‘One asterisk’
