Brighter days for many, black days for those who lost someone but all in all, a time to start another war. I think the US has been at war ever since. Nostalgiac and much to think about, Terry.

I know Daniel. Since 1815, end of the Napoeonov Wars, there has been at least one British Serviceman Killed by enemy action every year except 1968. So much for peace.

What pockets of joy past decades look now, lovely little capsule of a feeling, captured in your poem

A quieter, more private time Kim, when friends knocked on your door to communicate.

I was 7 - I remember Emily Medforth, teacher who encouraged me to write, saying “of course most of you here will see the year 2000”. And look where we are now.
