1-24-10 Fly Upon Broken Wings
Written: 1-24-10
Naked sparrow, how you cringe beneath broken wings,
unable to sleep in your last moments of life,
to lay awake and stare upon the stars and moon and sun within the sky,
little naked sparrow so broken and bleeding,
will you be picked up and carried to the Heavens?
Naked sparrow, why do you not scream in all your pain?
you do not cry above to the heavens,
is your faith strong enough that you believe salvation will come?
you stare above silent, lying there with broken beating heart,
blood upon my hands, ill pick you up gently
should i be your angel, come to rescue you?
Naked sparrow, oh you are truly beautiful in your death,
do you know my tears fall upon your broken body?
a gasp excaped my tender lips, when i felt your heart beat leave my skin,
the pulse of life no longer remains within,
fly my little broken sparrow, naked beneath your blood, on broken wings
and find the serenity of paradise
