Eric Schojan Poet Rhyme

10 Years Old

When I'm in the mood to write, I mean I gotta take advantage
Because the words I write help through years and years of damage 
 
Damage I tend to push aside
Feelings that I try and hide
Feelings that I push away
To make sure everyone's okay
 
I'll take all the weight, I'll take all the pressure,
For this family I've made, this family I treasure.
 
So I get out my stress by writing, well that's my healthiest of ways
So I can stop all of my hiding
And enjoy more of my days
 
Because I'm living my goal I set younger than ten
To be a great dad and be the best that I can
And show them right from wrong, be their example of a man
 
Now I need to concentrate,
On how truly to appreciate,
This family that had been my goal
Since I was only ten years old
