I remember like it was yesterday/ I wanted to go west to play/ To
lay and pay for the life/ That invited me to stay/ But I stay where
the sun has no ray/ There has to be another way/ I tried to ask
God/ But she appears to have nothing to say/ They said my help
was on the way, but it must be stalled/ I pray they refund what I
paid for faith, at the shopping mall/ Enthralled in my sorrow, I
walk down that hall/ Left alone, leaning up against all these
falling walls/ God...may I close my eyes to the skies, and try to
stand tall/ Or close my eyes to the skies, and bounce like a ball/
Or close my eyes to the skies, and let the rain fall/ Or close my
eyes to the skies, and not wake up at all...
