Like robots programmed to follow instructions, Blinders on, looking straight ahead, Walking along a fixed line, we keep step; From bed to office, then office to bed. Batteries recharged, our programme we repeat We go on our way, no choice or free will. Follow the leader, no questions, no doubts, Our bodies are moving but our minds are still. There was a time when we did dream, Our ideas were endless, our visions were vast. All that we gave up, just to belong, Now our hopes are just memories floating in the past. Robots we are, robots we’ll remain Unless we take off these shackles and chains Start a revolution, awaken our minds, Just perhaps, someday, we’ll dream again.

Your great poem brings home a dismal truth, Samuel! Perhaps some day we will stop to smell the roses....and dare to dream again!

Unfortunately most of us are moving in the opposite direction. I'm seeing too many people give up on their dreams to fit in with the crowd which is what drew me to write this poem.

I really enjoyed this poem Samuel, I being a dreamer who does not fit in to that robotic mold ;) 7! xomo

Thank you Maureen! If only we had more dreamers break out of their shells, the world would be a much better place!

In case any of you are wondering what the title means, that's "human" in Binary, a representation of how humans have become robots! :)

Really good one Samuel, your message rings clear ~ we are "sub-human Joes" filling holes and time by running in circles around churches without purpose.
