And there would always be someone new to make us believe we were everything. Remember how we forgot to look both ways before stumbling into the street? How our parents raced after us anxiously. And we laughed because we didn’t have a care in the world. Remember how we forgot that a broken heart wasn’t the end of the world. That the tears we let stream down our faces were quick to end. But we still thought we would never find love again. Remember how we forgot that sometimes the princess doesn’t find her Prince Charming? But we grew up believing that we’d find the one before anyone else. So we got our hearts broken one too many times, thinking this is it. Remember how we forgot to cry when we hurt? How we held all the tears in to make us invincible. But we found out too late that even invincible things have a weakness. Remember how we forgot to enjoy the little things in life?
