Those Who Wait Upon the Lord Isaiah 40:31
"Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint," Isaiah 40:31*** Q: What does waiting upon the Lord mean to you? A: I can answer that in one word--Patience! Q: Are you patient? A: If you are like most people, including the majority of people, the answer is--NO!" A: That category also includes: the vast majority of Christian believers including yours truly. Q: What does God mean by renewing your strength? A: Even if you a firm believer in God, you most likely suffer from an 'energy crisis!" Q: Why is that true? A: Because you are not patiently waiting upon the Lord in your life but you are known for your impatience! Q: How can you renew your strength besides being patient? A: "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not unto your own understanding." Proverbs 3:5. Q: What does God mean by mounting up with wings like eagles? A: First it does not mean that God will give you eagle wings to fly. It does mean the same force that causes eagles to fly shall be also applied to your strength giving you much more energy than you ever had known before... Q: What did God mean by running and not being weary? A: First it does not mean you will automatically be transformed into a marathon runner, unless of course, you are one already. Nor does it mean you will be transformed into the DC super hero, Barry Allen, The Flash. A: It does mean that God will solve your energy crisis for you but it does mean He will if you continue living your inactive life style of a coach potatoe. Q: What did God mean by walking and not fainting? Q: How did most people reach their destinations in biblical times, in the time of Isaiah the prophet for example? A: The answer is: the vast majority of the people walked. And God knew that the people of Isaiah's day as well as in Jesus' day walked. That is how the Son of Man got around with one exception--Psalm Sunday--His triumphant entry into Jerusalem. He rode a donkey and not a white horse. A: They knew what walking and running were all about. God gave them supernatural strength to endure during their daily activities especially, in their walking. (In His Steps by Charles Monroe Sheldon first published in 1896.) Q: What is the first thing you do? A: Walking In His footsteps!
