The Travesty of Humanity
Once it seemed my consciousness sailed upon a sea in a time when the world was in a state of serenity. Troubles loomed then, but were perfumed with smiles, and although the journey in life had its share of trials, my sails were filled with hope, my travels sun-kissed, for there was a brotherhood of man that did exist. But on American shores and all other distant lands, the sodality of brethren crumbled from the demands made in the name of equality, but in reality, it was greed. Those who had more than others said they had a need to make the world a better place in which to be alive. It was a facade. The travesty of humanity took a nosedive. Now, there's no peace in civilizations upon the earth. For the rebellion of humans, Jesus was offered in birth. He came because evil doers who wore the shame of sin, disobeyed the Father. It's the sad state we now live in. Gone are the days of kindness, replaced with hostility. The world has been overrun with deceit and immorality. The seas on which I once sailed have become polluted and values of the brotherhood of man were uprooted. War kills the innocent. Woe to those who are persecuted. Yet, the guilty go free when they should be prosecuted. Forests are stripped, taking away the animal's habitat, and global warming is a tragedy that we need to combat. What next? That's a question, but answers are hard to find. Will we ever live in harmony in a world that is maligned? Is it possible to have a melding within the human race? The world lies in tumult; civilizations are mired in disgrace. Once, people had scruples, a sense of right from wrong. Now, peace is for dreamers in the words of Lennon's song.
