A Walk With Ziggy
My Mumma is very sweet, well most of the time She takes me for walks in the early daytime There are days she decides to not take me out I am not sure why as I will noisily pant and pout Yippee! She is getting ready; I know we are going today I see her grab my collar, leash and my shirt striped grey Geez, I tell her I am tired of having to wear that stupid collar But she tells me I look handsome, it matches my shirt color I am getting irritated, panting as she takes a few trips upstairs I ask what she is doing, as I bark at the bottom of the stairs Yahoo, here we go, walking with my head up proudly smiling As I walk, my tail is wagging as my Mumma is guiding I stop and sniff, ahh what a relief as I pee on the ground Sniffing at new places to explore with wild scents around Mumma pulls me back again, she can be such a bore! She waits as I squat, as I am doing my duties some more Yes! We are headed towards the historical park I pull more and whimper, I can’t wait to leave my mark I am so happy, my tail wags as I bark and croon Oh no, we are home again, our walks always end too soon! 6/5/22 Contest: Personification - Pets Talking Poetry Contest Sponsor: Constance La France
