My Friend Solidity
My friend Solidity and I grew up together, and I have always admired his abilities. I remember one day the wind blew with such force as to be merciless to anything that dared to be in its path. This wind was proud and fearless, and his name was Windy. However, there was a tree name Solidity that Windy had never met. This time, as fate would have it, Solidity stood directly in the path of Windy, and it was there at the intersection of Root and Force that the two finally met. Windy came with a force that no common facility or structure, nor tree could sustain. Windy always came with pain and deep desires for fame to gain, putting others to shame. Solidity braced himself, and as he began to see the approach of Windy, everything in its path was totally obliterated. Solidity said to himself, "God made me for standing, and my ancestors taught me to be strong and to lean upon God and my deep roots". Windy blew against Solidity with all his might, and the first to go was Solidity's leaves for which he was grieved. He wept but not for long, because the pounding did not cease. There was no time for crying because his limbs began to break from the mind-blowing-power-pounding of Windy. Solidity's tears continued to flow in torrents that were blinding, but she continued to stand. Solidity said to himself, "I cannot stop nor control Windy, but he was not engineered and designed to stay, which means he will blow over sooner or later. I must focus on myself and what I can do. I will outlast him". Just then, he felt his trunk wabble and sway as if that would be his final blow before demolition. In his final attempt at survival, as tears began to flood his wind-blasted eyes, Solidity looked down at his roots and raised his head to God. He said to his roots, "When my forefathers planted me with your strong roots, they knew that you were made for this and more". He said to God, "What times I am afraid, I will trust in you". At that very moment, Windy started feeling bewildered and weak. He then asked the Lord to increase his force. His backup of wind gulfs arrived and blew with all their might, but suddenly their wind shifted and blew in another direction. They were perfectly timely, assisting in Solidity's survival. In time, Solidity grew back his limbs and leaves. He still stands strong and tall. He not only survives massive storms, but he always thrives. Well, I just told you about my friend Solidity. That is just one of many stories that I could tell you. I tell you, I am blessed to have such a friend. I never cease to be inspired by him. 11321PS
