Believing
Often times, seconds are seemingly so long that you feel stuck in a clock that never tics away. The once little tics you would hear have now stopped. Time slows down as you stare into the unknown. Believing in yourself used to be so simple; kinda like the snap of a finger, or the tap of a shoe. Now, it nearly seems impossible to leave the headspace you call your mind. Thoughts are both meaningless yet fulfilling. At one point in one’s life do they feel that they’ve done nothing. Thoughts run ramped as they just want to fall asleep. Closing their eyes seem as if it’s an impossible mission to complete. Wanting to leave behind the clock that can’t seem to tic. But after a while, the clock that never seemed to tic; begins to move once again. It’s almost as if it never stopped to begin with. Those horrible nights of silently sobbing into a pillow; staring into the unknown; and even those unforgettable actions.... They move along. Like the tic of a clock. Running water in a stream, down to a waterfall that crashes into a beautiful pond. Ever so slowly do those sleepless nights fade away. Time begins to move, just as you wished for in the beginning. However... Even though time will move on with those nights in tow. Memories and history will never be left behind. Either it’s a tear falling down your cheek, or a scar on your body. That memory will never be forgotten. Time will stop at some point, or memories fade to the back of the mind: But what I know for sure- That once seemingly frozen clock, will begin to tic again. Just like the beat of your heart. It’s not left behind, just a little slow like the once slow stream of running water that falls into a beautiful pond.
