Dreams
Dreams "What is that you ask there... high in the sky? I will tell you." Said the giant spider sitting on top of the incredible yellow sunflower. The place? The garden of today. "It is a dream, they call rainbow." The tiny, baby butterfly looked straight into the face of the black, round ever-wise but very dangerous, spider. "I have a dream. It is to fly to every flower. I will ask them for a petal and then gather them up. I would put them in a basket and bring them with me to the ribbon in the sky, full of colors. I would make friends with the rainbow. It would be a gift to give back all the cheer that has been given by her beauty." "So you like to celebrate?" said the dark shape. "You look kind of like a sweet treat or cake yourself." The darkness moved a little closer. The butterfly tested her lovely wings ever so slowly, nearly ready. She looked up-high into the heavens at the rainbow. The rest of the sky was a combination of mighty storm reminders, masses of heavy, water-filled sponges, still caring a load to the land further north. There were also areas of beauty beyond measure, here in there in random openings, blue. This was a window, between the warmth of day and the darkness of un-surety. The butterfly would take flight, the lovely bit of color with wings that mimic the petals of flowers. She would conquer her fears of the unknown in favor of all that may be. The spider moved just a little closer. The butterfly did not notice at all. Her eyes ever on the prize. And... the same could be written, said or truly understood... for the spider dreaming not about rainbows... but of cake.
