I Can't Dance
I remember it well as a young boy. It was a good feeling of anticipation. An older girl was teaching me to dance. But unfortunately, she failed at the teaching, and disappointingly, I failed at the learning. So, I have gone through life without dancing. That is, until one day some 15 years ago, at home and all alone, the perfect combination for me to dance came along, and I took full advantage of the opportunity. I know I said that I never learned to dance, but I was dancing. Not the popular or secular way of dancing, but I was dancing. No one to watch me; no one to judge me; and no one to laugh. It was a Christian radio station playing upbeat Christian music. In my own heart and mind, I was dancing like David once danced.* It was a happy dance to The Lord, and there was no one to laugh. The Bible speaks of God laughing at man's attempts at challenging him.** So, God has the ability to laugh, but it's not likely he laughed at my dancing that day in as much as it was a hearty and happy dance to the glory of God. 031820PoSpCtest, A-Muse-Sing Poetry Contest,Richard Lamouruex, 3P *2 Samuel 6:14a “And David danced before the LORD with all his might......." **Psalms 2:4 & 59:8
