The Stained Glass Window
At first it looked just to be a sad old house beside the sea. I walked across the pure elk sand into a monument to God and Man. A wall of glass in every hue took breathe from me as it suddenlybcame into view The cooled glass, the leaded lines, memories etched in another time. The glass received the sun as it had always done. Then the pigments forget their age as a kaliescscope of colors burst forth from that gilded cage. Peach faced doves weaved ribbons of gold ‘round colors so vivid, pristine, yet old The sun played upon each color in time to some unheard music long left behind. Angels suspended in powder blue skies...A man on a cross with sad suffering eyes. The symmetry, the grace so engraved on this place made leaving hard and staying misplaced. I had given nothing but found it gave me a joy, a lightness, a burden set free. The stained glass window returned to reflecting the sea
