Depression Is Real But We'Re Told Not To Talk About It
Depression is real, but we're told to not talk about it We're told to "Just get over it" and to find a way to walk around it We'll get a simple "everything will be okay" and to keep strong But how can we do that, when depression is something they won't allow us to speak on? a world full of small minds who Don't want to look at the bigger picture We can talk about a broken arm, but not a mental problem, but why does it differ? From a young age I've suffered with depression and anxiety I need help, but when I mention those words they try to silence me Why judge someone for having Depression, when you still find beauty in a bird with a broken wing Sorry to break this to you, but watching 13 Reasons why, doesn't help you to understand the whole thing The pain in my life, I need a hand to help remove it I feel like Eminem because I'm about to just lose it There's a stigma that comes with Mental health, so We have to keep it all inside The world only seems to care about Depression once a celebrity dies You can ask for help, and they'll say they didn't hear you When it all gets too much and you explode, they won't come near you They'll tell you that its all inside of your head They call you lazy, not understanding that Depression makes it difficult for us to leave bed We're always quiet at work or school so they leave us out But sometimes our anxiety is so severe we struggle to leave the house We're just regular people in need of a little help But we're forced to hide it and keep it to ourselves There's an elephant in the room and they want us to continue to walk around it Depression is real, but we're not allowed to talk about it
