Homage Poem for critique

Waiting (in homage to John Steinbeck and Dylan Thomas) It is a dingy, water drab sky/ cast above the sea/ now sunk low and sullen/ by the weight it bears/ stanza break/ at the town, its concrete rooms/ stand mute in echoing hues/ drip drip dripping/ from their hulking walls/ stanza break/ the people slump, peer out/ no walking dogs today/ or coffee by the surf/ no bounce or shout of banter/ stanza break/ friends wait, see if it will clear/ resume their listless thoughts/ until the sun returns/ to brighten every face.//

I love the expressions of the words. Almost as painting onto a canvas. I can see that in my mind. Great tribute to a masterful story teller.
