by railroad and by river 
-he's the son of the absconded 
hot rod angel- 
and he imagines cars 
and rides them in his dreams, 

so lonely growing up among 
the imaginary automobiles

the beauty of his wild 
forebears-a mythology 
he cannot inherit.
