Thank you, India

Thank you, India!
Thanks for your skill with fabric.
Thanks for your looms of magic.
For centuries in our World,
Your cotton threads were firmly twirled.

Thanks for clothes that keep us warm,
That help save us from the storm,
But there is one swatch that brings me joy.
Hail to that awesome wonder,
Beautiful, beautiful corduroy.
        Thank you.

Brilliant! Very well said. Silk was designed so women could walk around naked in public. My wife has designed many a garment.

This expression of gratitude makes a wonderful poem. What would Soup be like if each poet wrote a poem showing gratitude for something and posted them the same day? Just a random CayCay thought, I have a lot of those. Actually, I guess they're the only kind I can have (now laughing at myself.) I enjoyed! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Alas I am not familiar with what cloth is made of. I know nylon, cotton, wool but not what they are used for. Still you poem is a delight.

Yes, you are right. Cotton fabrics originated from the Indus Valley... mainly from India and Pakistan, later was shared by many more countries. Cotton is something so weather friendly.
