Painting As Camera

The canvas is so much like a seashore
Where hands comb for a body to the storm

Sometimes a continental piece will shift
These wounds under the palette —

Give her light while looking through the bars
From some more than thousand marks

The brush of close kissing hair by
The stroke of your blue in brown eyes

Stay familiar this very last year
With painted on tears —

The paints dispensed in the water pass
God, forgive the glass.

A tide that leaves colors to our flashback's wind —
My true colors are yours to see within

Ahh a couplet something that the little people like me can do. I had to re-read "Where hands comb for a body to the storm" over and over again because it just brushed my neural nonsense in the right way; and the ending "true colors are yours to see within", chef's kiss. Absolutely lovely and kept me focused on each line.

Poignant! Angst woven throughout with powerful images and emotions. The last two lines reach deep into, and from, a lovers heart. Thank you!

A gorgeous poem here. Several images really stood out to me such as the blue in brown eyes and the next to the last couplet. So nice

Oh my, what a beautiful snd picturesque poem this is, dear Paige, with immense emotions oozing in every line! The metaphorical play here is absolutely ingenious and compels one to feel beyond and between the spaces of these words." A tide that leaves colors to our flashback's wind — My true colors are yours to see within" Truly love these lines! Wonderfully crafted as always and so good to be able to read your work after a long time. Have not been feeling well these days due to my asthma, still recovering and catching up. Light and love to you always!
