Judith

Common nature born in we share
our teeth become the spear
we all put her in that chair

He never left, for she was considered like Job

All our sins we sing
like carnal lies, only sorrow
can ignorance bring

I never heard of these people. I guess the former poets who left comments gave me a clue. It sounds fascinating, Rob.

Maynard is the lead singer of the rock bands Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer. He has written at least two songs about his mother Judith Marie Keenan. She was Christian and she remained one after having a stroke that put her in wheelchair for the rest of her life. In the song 'Judith', he is consumed with anger against Christ for what happened to his mother.

In Judith, Maynard unleashes his rage against forces beyond anyone's control. His criticism of his mother's unwavering faith is ironically juxtaposed with his unwavering faith in her. This well-crafted little poem captures it all!

I hope he eventually sees the testimony of her faith for the truth that it is. Thank you for reading and commenting.

They that walk in darkness claiming the light is too bright. Are but slaves to their blindness, chained so tight. The key rests in the Son rise, the divine words spoke. They refuse too see, thus remain under yoke. A pity, that so many would rather be slaves. Than accept the Son , the Light-- the Words that save! A fav.. God bless.

I hope one day Maynard is able to see beyond his misdirected anger. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment my friend.
