Prayers for Carolyn Devonshire - Joyce Johnson's Blog

What can I say?  My picture above shows you that I have lived a long time.  It was taken in 2008 for our church registry. 

I was a stay at home mom until my last child was in school.  I was widowed when I was forty four and was glad that I was already employed at the local radio station.  I stayed in the same job for thirty years and after I retired at 65 and took a trip to Europe with a friend, I started working again and stayed for another ten years.  I have only been writing poetry since 1999 when I wrote to relieve my grief when my only son died.  I married again four years after my husband died and was widowed again in 1995.  I am an avid gardener and belong to two local garden clubs and am on the board of the district club and state garden club so have lots of meetings to attend. I have my own poetry corner in the state garden club's publication. I live in my home by myself and rent my farm land to a local bulb grower.  I am surrounded by beauty.  All of mv family lives close to me.  Two daughters, six grandchildren,
eleven great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. We live in Washington State in Northwest Washington and love it here.

I am asking for prayers for Carolyn.  I talked to her last night.  She is very low in spirits as her condition is advancing and she sees no hope of turning it around.  The doctors offer no suggestions. She would appreciate prayers and personal messages of encouragement.  Thank you.  Joyce

Good Evening, MOM, my Prayers have ALWAYS included Carolyn, I will send her words of encourargement AS my thoughts are Always with YOU. how are the Twins doing? LOVE YOU ALWAYS and FOREVER, I also will be leaving the SOUPER SOUP Family as my Health is failing fast. I am not totally giving up as I have only 3 more Cuisines to get my Black Hat Chef Credentials. I will be the 8th in the World to achieve this honor 46 years of Dedication to my Occupation. I do not teach culinary classes anymore as I can not go to school everyday anymore I Admire YOUR long Life YOU are an Inspiration LOVE YOU ALWAYS and FOREVER, YOUR Lost son...Harry

we all wish Carolyn well .. thankxx Joyce for informing us as to her condition and state of mind.. the doctors work in the natural.. but our God works in the supernatural.. Psalm 55:22.. dcas your cdare and burden on HIM for HE cares for us.. HE will NOT allow us to slip ..fall.. or fail.. let Carolyn know the Word of God is so powerful and she is blessed .. believe and u will recdeivew healing.. ask.. that your joy may bwe full.. luv..

Carolyn, you continue to be in my prayers. I am truly sorry that you are having to suffer so much all alone. When I return to Florida and get things caught up at home, I will try to find a way to visit you for a little while...and try to be of some help to you. I love you. Stay strong and look for the good. Whenever you can find just an inkling of joy, grab hold of that light and fly away in your thoughts to that happy place. There it will magnify and strengthen your heart as you go through this VERY bad and sad experience. Do something...anything...the smallest of things that you are able to do to take your mind off of your health. If you can. I love you...many people love you.

Carolyn, you're entitled to feeling low, howling, screaming, breaking some dishes. We are all on your side, though we can not be BY your side. It pisses me off that earth angels like you must deal with life crap (sorry for the foul mouth. You can give me one of those tender "Melanie" smiles, a gentle shake of your head, sometime much later) Prayers and hugs and white light sent your way! Demand the royal treatment! Whatever brings you comfort I hope you surround yourself with-- flowers, scents, photos, cherished cards and letters, music... all of it! Hope lends a kind of strength, a second wind. To Carolyn: I am so sorry you are going through such a difficult trial. I don't know you personally but from your poetry I know you are a special lady. This is a nice gesture, Joyce...Your love is felt...wouldn't it be great if we could all fly down to Florida with Francine and take Carolyn to the ocean and read her silly limericks all day...she could even give us pointers on how to catch a goliath fish! I was thrilled to see she felt up to writing for my contest yesterday as I know she is not doing well, it was so good to talk to her the other day and she knows I love her like a sister and she is always in my prayers and in my heart.
