Maureen was born in Auckland, New Zealand. She was raised in the Waikato where she lived with her parents and one sister on a dairy and poultry farm. She didn’t really enjoy farm life and was happy when the family moved to the nearest large city, where she attended high school and learnt to love studying and reading books. She moved to Australia in the late 60's and has been there ever since. She spent most of her adult life living in Sydney, Australia, where she raised her two children, Tanya and Adam as a single parent. She was in fact a single parent for 22 years.
She has always wanted to be a published author of self-help material but has not as yet realized that dream, although she has almost completed her first book.
Maureen has worked most of her life as a personal assistant for senior executives of companies such as Nortel, Ricoh, Marine Midland Bank-NY, Smith Kline & Beecham and APN.
Today she still works and lives in Noosa, Queensland, Australia. She has four grandchildren from her daughter. She has traveled to the USA and UK twice and toured with her son to SF and NY as well as through most of Europe. She loves New York and Paris but has no desire to live in Europe or anywhere else in the world.
Her favorite hobbies are reading, writing and digital photography. The photographs in Maureen’s books are all her own photography. She has a library of thousands of digital images that she has collected over the last 10 years. She has never had a lesson in photography and is just a natural!
Maureen did not want to write poetry because she didn’t think that people were interested in poetry these days, but she believes that God told her she had to, so she obeyed. It was because of a friend (Max) who lives in Texas, USA, that her first book of Christian poetry came about. Max asked Maureen to email him a couple of her poems and he was so taken with her poetry and how it spoke to his soul that he told her she had to put a book together. At this point in time Maureen has written over 1,400 poems in approximately 3 years and during this time has been working fulltime. Maureen has not had a college education and does not understand poetry – she just writes it!
Most of Maureen’s poems are written as sermonettes. It was always her goal that her poetry be used by the Holy Spirit to lead the reader to Bible truths and to give her/his heart to the Lord.
