Reward of Grace
Reward of Grace
“1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;” Rom 5:1-3 NIV
Catholics and Jews
Have almost lost sight of grace
Teaching God’s favor—
Must be earnt in its place
The reward of the righteous
Gained by their own works
Prompted by a grasping spirit
In a mercenary manner lurks
Grace does not lessen
The claim of God’s law
The requirement in Eden
Obedience still the core
Each lover of self
Is a law transgressor
Ignores God’s commands
Destined sin cherisher
Love of self and wealth to gain
Are out of harmony
With the principles of heaven
And God’s desire for sanctity
Conditions of discipleship
A soul must accept
Where grace and mercy’s given
To serve others not reject
Entrance into the heavenly city
Comes only through unmerited grace
No inheritance can purchase it
Nor works can replace
The heart must be melted
As the Winter’s snow
Service given to the Savior
As in Spring new life does grow
The reward of grace
Is given to each soul
Whose freed from bondage
Broken lives now made whole
Pardon is provided
When repentance is sincere
Mercy and grace clasp hands
Lives find God’s repair.
