Winning Characters From The Past

Due to the early afternoon hour at the amusement park Arcadia added polish to several shiny flashy machines waiting to entertain customers of all ages.

“Miss Gordon,” he clamored, “did you count again the winnings from last night?”

Looking up from her station where she collected tickets in exchange for gifts Anita kept her tease appearance that could change instantly if she allowed her subconscious to take over only for a second opening the door for a ready soul to show everyone the truth.

“Trust me the kids this morning were searching for temporary work,” the knowledgeable librarian image reported.

Suddenly the bright natural environmental light invaded the darkened business presenting a mature leather wearing contingent entering the establishment, “We are Thunder Road,” a threatening electricity filled cloud individual announced before invading the party place on the beach “and we have something at stake.”

Taking a step back Anita Gordon summoned Arcadia, “we have visitors,”

“I see Miss Gordon,” the owner manager replied cuing a female member to come forward.

“I am Pova and I have my allowance and an option to claim,”

“Yes, Miss Gordon, she has an option to claim if she has an allowance,” Arcadia honestly smiled.

“But Arcadia, Pova’s show never had a payout so how can she have an allowance?”

It was then the ‘trying to be cool character’ felt a nudge before a whisper in the ear, “honey, you have something to show go on shara, pova her your good fortune.

With an evil smirk Pova reached into the pouch strapped to a fashionable belt and revealed a whole ticket string stretching a mile in length. “You see Miss Gordon, or should I say Saint Anita, I like protecting vulnerable adults,”

Anita continued to peer through her glasses, “and when I am able to, I enjoy cleaning up the problem, so I do not want to turn this place into a Del Mar drama, instead just hand over that big sweep for my winnings and I will be on my way,”

“And what are you going to do with the big sweep?” Miss Gordon retrieved the product from the shelf.

“You know put things under the carpet,” Pova answered.

Sometime later Shaaz a unique individual strutted down the California street in a show like style until he noticed the game room luring features twinkling in the windows. Going inside there was a gigantic disco ball spinning like a planet from another galaxy and in a second the community favorite decided, “I want that disco ball taking down and put it in my place, I object to it up there looking like a winner!”

“And how are you going to do that?” Miss Gordon inquired in the same manner a steward looking for something would recommend change in the results.

“I have a nice allowance and the option to claim,”

“From where?”

“A root beer meeting with Pova while she was sweeping things under the rug.”

An hour later reality set in and the big sweep broom and disco ball were gone leaving only memories. Watching Shaaz walk out a winner she decided to apply some green make up and boldly go where no one had gone before unlike a beachside arcade that was a dime a dozen on the surf.
