Two diverged roads
I am standing on the open road…
Tracing steps…
upon a small path…
It gently leads…
revealing the way.
The wide-open thoroughfare…
The sprawling, open street…
The grand main highway…
The toll road…
charging its toll…
Standing quietly upon the street.
A bridge…
suspended high above the waters…
The interstate…
crossing distant lands…
Below…
the deep mountain pass…
The avenue…
lined with shady trees…
Winding wide…
around the mountain slope.
Until the way converges…
at a quiet, small checkpoint…
Turning into a tiny…
hidden path…
The ring road…
encircling the town…
A quiet side branch…
of the journey.
The principal highway…
grand and vast…
The dual carriageway…
dividing its paths…
A secondary road…
leading to another main street…
heading for the shore.
Where the path comes…
to a sudden halt…
A dead end…
with no way through…
Tucked away…
in the shadows of a back street.
There lies a passing overpass…
above…
A quiet trail…
for pedestrian steps…
A detour…
looping wide around…
A side alley…
running along the canal.
The waterway…
leading to the grand entrance…
The flowing channel…
of the stream…
A clear passage through the water…
The inner journey…
of individual steps.
