Turn a different corner

Beneath the heavy quiet of what used to be, I walk the ghost of a road we never made. If we had turned a different corner, Our shadows would have vanished into shade— We never would have met, Never learned the bitter weight of this regret. I am drifting now, pulled beneath the swell, Swept away in a current running deep and cold. You shifted your ground, moved on, left the shell Of a promise we could no longer hold. My spirit thins; I stumble, hollow and unspooled, A soul left aching, quiet, and fooled. Yet I call to the wind to turn you back— Return and conquer the grief that takes my breath. Restore us to the old altar of our love, And breathe a living warmth into this death. You took my power; now awaken the flame. Lift me from the ashes of my name. Mend this heart that fractures beneath the hide, Where I bleed in secret, suppressing the stain. You swerved from the path, deviated wide, Leaving us tangled in quiet, unspoken pain. Tend to the soil, plant our roots once more, Sweep clean the wreckage and open the door. Rebuild from the Wreckage Remodel the home we built out of trust, Alter the shape of this dark, unyielding fate. Do not stand stagnant, letting us turn to dust; Resurrect the spark before it is too late. Strike a new light across the shadowed floor, Soften my spirit so I may believe you once more. Either heal me completely or set me free— Lock your heart back to mine, or let the river run. Reorganize the broken fragments of me, Or leave me turned toward a different corner Sepedi translate E re ke Buše pelo ke fenye go tlogelwa Boela morago go nna o Kgutla Boela madulong a lerato la rena la kgale o nkamoga matla lohleletseha matla a lerato la rena a boye gore ke Kaonefala ke fole gape Maikutlo Ke Fenye mogopolo ke lebale O Ntšhafatsa matla Ke ota ke ewa ke tswela pele Ke Senyega go Biphe gore ke kaonaFale Onphošolla pelo o tswele pele o ngodisa ke go tshephe hape oketša o Kgabiše o thuse o oketše holofelo o kuke ge ewA Ke ntšhafatsa matla a lerato la gago Ke fetole lerato Ke Belekele go emela ke hlatloge Oketša boemo bjaka OnPhošolle ke kaonefale Lema o Godisa o Pholiša o psatša Hlwekisa o Phutha o Seletša Boha bja rena Ke Senyega ke bipha Ke Gobala pelo e biphe Fetola lerato Lokisa ka mokgwa wa gago Lokisa bopa gape lerato laka nPhošolla Ke Fetoge Ke dira gape wa nthata Bopa gape lerato o beakanya gape Fetola ponagalo o Sale o dule Ikutlwa Bokaone Boela maatlenge Lokiseha o fola maikutlo a go Utlwisisa gape Kaonefala o humane tsoseletsehe o bipha Palelwa o bipha Sutha o fetoga Tsoga Tseleng arogoga Ke a Goga ke Hoholeha ka gare ga lerato bjalo ka lerato o tsamaya O Huduga O Tloša o romele O Suthise o retologa Fetofetola arogoga o fapantšha o beakanya gape Beeletsa pelo ya gago gape Bea lefelong le lengwe Emela o Arogoga ka bjako welapele o swara pelo yaka E sala e dula E Fetola Sebopeho Agha gape ntšhafatsa matla Ntšhafatsa ka botlalo Fetola ka kudu Toloka fetolela fetoga sebopyo Tjhentjha fetola ponagalo Ema felo go tee
