Traditional Leaders Life PART 01
Karch is a sixteen year old teenage boy who lived with his grandma and two siblings. Mainly his younger sister Innocentia and old brother Edward. They lived in a four bedroom bond house with a kitchen, lounge and single toilet. The bond house was situated in a city far away from the other cities. Might it was situated in area surrounded by the bush. They used to attend their classes at the nearest High School. His grandma used to teach him and his two siblings of their history. Mainly through telling stories of how she grew and how his great grandparents used to be rich. One of the stories was about his grandma’s father. Who was a owner of a initiation school and he was also a Traditional Leader.
Seen in how he used to travel around without knowing where he was going to. Only to meet sick people who also needed help spiritually. Karsh’s grandma mentioned he might have appeared crazy. Even though he always helped and healed the people he met. Lived up to his expectations as a Traditional Leader in the rural area my grandma grew up in. He had a lot of assets, properties and land which included cattle’s. Apart from telling them stories about how traditional healers are trained and by which creature. The training included the traditional healer being taken by a giant snake. That is only seen at night or when it is attacked. She used to say it is a Snake of the Gods or ancestors.
The giant snake will then stay with the traditional healer inside it’s home. Which might be a big and deep dam or in a big hole next to a river. The snake will then play with the traditional healer’s head. Through making the traditional healer to eat mud and saying it is Burger or something delicious. For a certain period of time and the tricky part is that once the giant snake takes a traditional healer. The family relatives should not cry at all! Their tears will force the snake to kill the traditional healer. Only thing they should do is to prepare a feast and payments for the snake. The feast would be alive Bulls, which the family relatives are to stand and watch. Just as the giant snake kills and consumes them.
Before accepting their payments in the form of coins. Enough to fill up a bathtub and they are to be thrown into the river or dam. And after that the giant snake will then release their beloved family relative. Not to mention that seeing the Giant snake. And telling people about it will definitely make you crazy. All traditional healers taken by the Snake of the Gods are powerful. Seen in their prophesies and how many sick people they healed and helped spiritually. There was one story about the Snake of the Gods that Karch enjoyed listening to! As it was his favorite and it was about a certain man who was driving along the road. When all of a sudden he met a certain man who stopped him and asked for a lift.
When the driver asked the man where he was traveling to. The man answered him and told him he will tell him where to stop as it was only one road. Connected to a bridge to make it much easier for cars and human beings to cross the nearby river. The driver then instructed him to climb aboard fearing that they might have him robbed. The driver drove till they reached the bridge that is when the man stopped him. Climbed off the single cab can they were driving. Knocked on the drivers window while searching his pockets. He was searching for a two hundred Rands note to give to the driver. The driver lowered his window and accepted the money notes.
Then all of a sudden before he could drive off the man instantly changed into a Giant snake. Just as he jumped off the bridge. The driver still terrified and amazed drive off as fast as he could! Telling himself never to give any random human beings in his entire life. While still afraid at what if the man had changed into a snake and killed him. Just before he could climb off or with him driving. The story made Karch love his grandma’s stories even much more! Made him enjoy staying without electricity as that was the best and only time he actually enjoyed listening to the stories. Mainly because by the time his grandma finishes up one short story.
Time would have went by fast and that actually helped him forget load heading or load reduction stages. Made him feel like there was electricity even though it was not there. One day when Karch was traveling to school . He met a certain prophet by the name of Frank through one of his friend, “Lucas”. Who was a musician, one thing that they had in common was that they were both musicians. The prophet was also a marketing manager. Who stopped working because he had to become a traditional healer or prophet. As in he had to help and heal people like prophets do! Karch and his friend were traveling to school. When they were walking to school.
Lucas decided that they should first stop at one of his friends house. To collect a few beats he was to write with. They had two to three songs to record. Lucas wanted to find out where they were to meet. After school just before they could head to the nearby studio to record. Frank was a kind person who smoked and drunk a lot. He wouldn’t mind drinking from Monday to Sunday, from early in the morning till in the afternoon. He scared people who met him for the first time. Cause of what he did when he had to see a vision. He would first shout Jesus Christ’s name and speak in tongues. With his eyes closed and his hands covering his face. Some of his friends or people who met him for the first.
Never returned to his home to visit him or use him for any consultations. But he had helped a lot of people who still come over to his home. To check on him and his family of three, mainly his twin kids and wife. Not to mention that they only did so to show him. That they are thankful for what he did to assist and heal them. Karch and Lucas arrived at Frank’s home and found that he had locked himself up. Because he needed some space and time alone. Lucas was used to how Frank loved playing music on his Bluetooth speaker loudly. How he had to always shout his name. Before he could open up or unlock his burglar and door. This time he shouted out Frank’s name.
While explaining to Karch why he was doing so! Not to mention complaining about why he never purchased a new phone. Before Karch could reply and add on what he was speaking about. They both heard the door getting unlocked and keep quiet just as the door opened up. Just as the door opened up Frank saw them and begun smiling. He was smoking a joint as usual and hen he unlocked the burglar. Then let Karch and Lucas in while shaking their hands. Lucas asked him to pass him the joint. So he can smoke before going to school. He also asked him about their recording session after school. Frank confirmed that the recording session is still on. He said so while passing Lucas the joint.
The two went into Frank’s house and sat down in his bedroom. Listening to the beat they were going to record with! While smoking weed, after a few seconds Frank had a vision. Then decided to ask for Karch to return after school as he had to speak to him. Mentioned it was about a serious matter that had to be dealt with urgently! Said with his face serious starring directly at Karch in his Grey & White school uniform. Karch responded just as he took the joint from Lucas. Immediately begun smoking just as he answered Frank. Told him he would come over to his home after school. Even stated that he will travel back home Lucas after their recording session.
Karch and Lucas were getting late for their first lesson for the day. So Frank checked the time on his watch. Which he is always putting it on, it was already half-past seven Ante Meridian. Karch and Lucas had fifteen minutes left before they could attend their first lesson. So Frank decided to escort them out of his house. Said Goodbye while reaching out for Lucas so that they may do their handshake. Karch was starring directly at both hands just as they did their special handshake. Lucas and Karch travelled to school quiet cause Karch was thinking about why Frank wanted to see after school. Lucas was thinking about their recording session. Karch decided to ask Lucas if he should wait for him after school.
Lucas answered him and told him he should not wait for him. He had planned on escorting his girlfriend home before travelling to Frank’s home. They arrived at school and went into their respectful classes. Attended their lessons till the bell rang signaling after school. Karch immediately made way to Frank’s house urged to find out. What he had wanted to speak to him about! Karch arrived at Frank’s home found the burglar and door locked as if there was no one inside the house. He knocked on the door just as he screamed Frank’s name. After a few seconds the door was opened up by Frank. Whom begun smiling just after he saw Karch. He did so unlocking the burglar to let Karch in!!
He locked up the burglar and instructed Frank to sit down. He instructed him to do so while passing him a joint to light up. Karch could not focus on his studies. Because of the visions Frank saw early in the morning. Just after he lit up the weed Frank told him about how he saw him dead. How he appeared as light hidden because of a certain dark cloud. He then referred him as, “Your Highness”. Not to mention bowing down to him a few times. Then invited him to go visit his Bishop who would help confirm the matter. That he was to be resurrected and helped spiritually. Karch was a bit terrified as it was his first time dealing with such! But then again he was well aware of what his grandma had taught him.
Not to mention his grandfather who taught him a lot more about his history. Apart from showing him love. Karch then accepted the invite while passing Frank the joint to smoke. Frank never wanted to waste time. He decided to prepare for their journey to his Bishop. Karch was told that there was no need for him. To go back home to change his school uniform. As he would give him a jacket to put on!
