The Writer
- Would you like to share with us what you have been writing about?
She hesitated for a moment. She knew that he was going to analyse every single word she had written, and yet she accepted.
-Is it in English or Spanish? Because I would die to see how good you are with words when nobody asks you about something specific- he seemed to enjoy making her feel uncomfortable, but she knew him and his intentions
-I do write in both, but if you let me choose which I do prefer sharing with you... I would choose Spanish; just because I know how I feel and how to express it. I'm in a journey, where I'm still looking for a comfortable style in English to express how I really feel and make people feel with me. I could not be proud of one piece of work I have written so far, because that is just a ten per cent of who I really am. If you are going to judge me and my way of thinking, then it should be in Spanish where I can clearly show you who I am.
He was astonished; he had been teaching her since kindergarten, and had never before seen her talk in such clever way. He smiled and with proud he accepted reading her Spanish writings.
He went home and started working again, checking homework. He suddenly remember her writings and looked for them. What he did not know was that once he started reading them, he would never stop. She writes about love, adventures, fear and courage. He knew her, and feeling proud of her student he wrote a note at the end of one of her short stories.
"I've always known, you are able of amazing things"
The following day he started the class, she was nervous because he didn't mention a word about her writings. The class had finished, he came close to her and gave her everything that belonged to her.
- See you next class- she couldn't believe he didn't have anything to say about what he had read.
-Does it s*ck?- she was embarrassed
-You shouldn't ask what others think about your art. If you are sure about them, that should be enough. But, if you are so interested in knowing my opinion, read your papers.
She read each paper carefully and suddenly there it was. With her heart full of proud, she rose her head but he had already disappeared.
