The Two Little Sisters

The Two Little Sisters

Anne, the Surrogate Mother of Katherine

Two little sisters, one, the first born girl, a fine, elegant and resourceful gal, full of motherly duty and regard. Her name is Anne. Born to stalwart parents, a noble linage, and a life of promise and peril.

Second, a girl was born to this family, Katherine. A very independent, strong-willed, passionate person, but with little understanding of the world of which she was now a part.

Anne, a very kind and compassionate soul, knew of the dangers of life that could come into a young one’s life, and so with her maternal instinct, vowed to watch over her little sister, with all that she could.

What Anne didn’t anticipate, was the cruel crisis which had already begun seeping into her own precious loving family.

Grandpa riches, was not all that he appeared to be. One night, when her family had gone to stay with the grandparents, Grandpa snuck in, and cast a vicious awful spell upon the bright and shining star, which almost extinguished her entire soul in one minute.

The only thing that kept her alive, was her promised vow to protect her little sister Katherine from the darkness of this world.

So, upon learning of the miracle that had been over her sister Katherine, to protect her from that same intended curse, she was glad, but very confused.

“Why was I not given this same gift of protection?”

“Because,” said the voice, “I sent you to be the protection for her.”

And so she resolved.

Months later, she thought and thought. “How can I help my little sister be safe and ready, when she is finally old enough to go out into the world?”

“I know, I’ll build a play pin for her, to allow her to move, learn and grow, and when she is ready, she can be taken out, to learn for herself.”

So she watched, as little Katherine banged her head repeatedly against the sides of the pin, trying to get out. Over and over, she would butt her head, and over and over, little Anne would chuckle, as she saw the great efforts of her little Katherine, trying to be free.

Then somehow, Katherine found a prince in her play pin. Someone looking for a princess. He had been left to wander alone his whole life, until he saw this adorable little baby bullheaded princess.

The family welcomed him in, and together, they learned to play together.

Years later of living, learning and growing, the prince said, “Hey Katherine, have you ever been outside your pin?”

Katherine replied, “No! But I’ve been trying all my life to get outside.”

“Yeah, did you know I’ve been out there my whole life?”

“Really, what’s it like?”

“Oh, it’s about the same as in here, except you have to be a little more responsible for what you do.”

“Really?”

“Yup.”

“My mean sister has kept me in here my whole life, and I’ve been trying to escape this whole time!”

“Well, if you want to get out, the first thing I would suggest, is to stop trying to break your way out.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, the second I was ready to make it outside, my parents kicked me out, so they could have room for my siblings.”

“Wow, they must have been easy!”

“No, I wouldn’t know easy.”

“What do you propose Shane?”

“I would start looking around for another possible exit.”

“Like where?”

“Well, have you ever looked up?”

“No, why?”

And she looked up.

“What?!”

And there she saw, just a few feet above her, an opening.

“Yup,” said Shane, “It’s been there all along. Your sister had created it for you when she planned this crib, so that when you were ready, you’d discover it, and crawl out.”

“Why would she do that?”

“Because, that’s what a caring sister would do for her little sister.”

“She’s NOT my MOTHER!!!”

“Well, has she not keep you safe, been by your side all along, watched you grow and tried to listen and lighten your load?”

“NO, SHE’S BEEN A DICTARIAN WHO RULES WITH AN IRON ROD!”

“Yes Katherine. She has tried to help raise you using the word of God. She has tried to give you freedom when you were ready to use it, and protected you until you could stop trying to charge into everyone and anything that you didn’t understand.”

“Serious!?”

“Yes! Do you not know the purpose we have been playing bull fighter together as a game here in our little pin?”

“To help me have fun and pass the time?”

“Well, not exactly. It’s been because I was trying to teach you to not attack everything that appears to be red.”

“I have been trying to distract you from your anger, by letting you chase red flags, and from harming me while we play.”

“THAT’S IT! I WANT OUT!!”

“Katherine, the only way out is up. If you want out, we are going to need to help each other.”

And so, over the next few weeks, Katherine and Shane talked about how they were going to make it. They talked about what it was like on the outside, how and where they would live, and what they would do about Anne, if she tried to put her back.

Well, when Katherine and Shane decided to make their escape, they thought the best time would be at night. So when Anne was asleep, they struggled and pushed, kicked and pulled, until finally, they were both out.

Well, months later, when Anne had finally awoke, as she had eaten some sour broccoli, which put her to sleep, she went to check on her Katherine.

“AAAAAAHHHHHH! Where is she!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“My little Katherine has been stolen!!!! I was supposed to protect her!!!!! Now she is lost, and I have failed!!”

As she mourned and mourned for the loss of her surrogate child, Anne and Katherine’s Mom tried to console her.

Then one day, Anne was watching the news.

“What’s this?!” She said, “A Katherine a Shane are now living in Russia, and have become the President and Matron!”

“What has she done?! Now she is going to destroy all of Russia too!!”

Then, as Anne and Katherine’s Mom walked into the room to make breakfast for Dad, she overheard Anne's comment and replied, “Anne, do you really think you know the first thing about running a country?”

Then Anne's jaw dropped, and she took a bite of her cheerios.

Everyone did live happily ever after.

Katherine and Shane were able to finally arrange the affairs of Russia, to become a Monarchy, and even establish their first government welfare system, using the model of another well-known organization, which helped people become more self-reliant, and eventually pay back into the system.

While Anne on the other hand, found her prince in the sky, and they lived in a large mansion. He loved her very much, and was akin to wearing nice suits and ties. Of course he loved golf, and always paid a generous tax to his country.
