The Three Sisters

A tripod: mountains. Three sisters, in direct opposition. Myriad beings upon them, moving. Faiths and religions, among these forming. Currents of thought; run, river. Endless were they! - powerful. These had become; a stark reality. The sun shone. Hot and sharp. Stony cones. A new world: fresh was its frequency. Many minds here gathered. Creative energies, prosper. Light our way, Lord! Send a spark. Guide our steps. Yet this warning follow! Beware, mankind, thy borders... Tension: existed. Resolution: sought. Where could it be found? None knew. Rows of corn at war. Each: corral thy forces daily. Be like demagogues: recruit followers. Win each other over. Seize outposts. Victor: most impressive of the three. Be. Much they will make of thy varying attempts. Where stood the issue now? This could not be fairly said. The shortest: largest in number, best organized. O moving bodies! Draw beads, sharpen arrows, upon her mighty likeness. Eternal is struggle. Well corral thy ranks, and serry them. Unbeloved! Disliked by the other two was this one: the smallest sister. Besieged in the extreme was she, and the rivaling two were taller. To them she seemed remote. Overly cautious. Not altogether natural. Unfriendly. Their chiefest complaints - thus. Intimidating were they. Fierce - but still outnumbered. Which faced the uphill battle? A tandem? In cahoots? Perhaps. To an extent. Yet between the two, many important differences. One was blue blooded, the other populous. Patricians and plebeians. Never have these worked together well. Yet - against their smaller sister? That strong one?Natural allies. Winning over the many! Those vast masses! How they endlessly dwelt upon her shores! Hopes of the challengers: they must lay here: in numbers! Two against one! They must have the better chance! Yet here - far from certain. In autumn: the great harvest. A sacrifice: planned. The Contest of Forever: how would it decide? The fate of all concerned: callow in its hopefulness. Unfurrowed fields.
