The Talking Pumpkin

Once upon a time their lived a little three-year-old boy named William. William had brown hair and blue eyes. William lived in beautiful Burnaby British Columbia with his parents, little sister and cat. He loved to play with cars, run around, dance and sing.

The month was October and Halloween was nearing the corner. So what do you think little William was doing? Well Wee William was carving a pumpkin with his Mother and Father. And he was having a blast.

After the pumpkin was carved it was placed on the table. Williams Mother went to tend to Williams little Sister and Williams Father went to the kitchen and started to make dinner.

That means wee William was left alone with the pumpkin. He stared and stared and stared at the pumpkin in awe.

Suddenly the little three-year-old boy jumped with a start when he heard a voice saying

“Why are you staring at me”?

He was startled. He looked around but didn’t see another person in the room so went back to staring in aww at the pumpkin that was carved by his parents and him when again he heard a voice saying

Why are you staring at me”?

Again he looked around and then looked at the pumpkin and said

“Mr. Pumpkin are you talking”?

“Yes” said the Pumpkin.

“Oh I didn’t know pumpkins could talk” said William.

“Well Pumpkins are just like people we can talk just like people” said the pumpkin.

“My name is William” said William to the pumpkin.

“What is your name?”

“My name is Mr. Pumpkin” said the pumpkin.

“Oh nice to meet you” said William to Mr. Pumpkin.

“Well now” said Mr. Pumpkin to William

“What shall we do? Shall we and sing and have some fun?”.

“Yes, yes, yes” said William with excitement and glee in his eyes.

So that’s what Mr. Pumpkin and William did. They danced and sang and had a good old time. Mr. Pumpkin had some good dance moves even though he could only dance on the table and wee William thought Mr. Pumpkins dance moves were pretty cool.

Soon enough William’s parents came in to the dining room. Williams Mom had Williams Sister in his arms and Williams Dad was bringing in dinner.

“What was all that chaos going on?” asked Williams Mom and Dad?

“I was dancing with Mr. Pumpkin” said William.

“And he and I were singing”.

“Darling you know pumpkins can’t talk” said William’s Dad.

“But the pumpkin did talk” said William.

Although his parents didn’t believe William you and I both know that William had a fun adventure with Mr. Pumpkin the Pumpkin who could talk.

Happy Halloween!!!
