The Resurgence II

[II. They know no God.]
-
These things were not of God, and were not permitted to exist. Now they emerge, fresh with the odor of charred, burning hate. They plunge their hands into human flesh. With no mouths to eat their hearts, they smeared them on their faces. Having smelled their putrid flavor, their jaws unlocked and bolted open, into a line, splitting into a bottomless void. With a white tongue emerging from their prototypical phagic facilitators, they wrapped the heart and sucked them in with with a scream, gushing and gargling them with thick, stuttering spasms as they were rended from the inside, until the blood splashed on their faces like a child under the plaza fountain. Their jaws shut into a smile, before limping to the next one, and all that came after. They let them run away. They know...they only run from other, to other. Another, and another. They hide right in front of you. They walk as fast as you run, and they run as fast as you die.
