The Power Of The Mind
It was during June when Tumi woke up happy about the mid-year examination. They were having at school and what made him even more happier. Was the examination paper he was about to write. It was the English examination paper one that inspired him the most. Tumi enjoyed writing and reading a lot. He had promised himself not to smoke early in the morning. As he did not want to be distracted when writing the examination paper. He got up from his bed early in the and prepared for school. He was trying not to stress over the exam as that might put a strain on his brain. He walked to school thinking of how him and his classmates threaten their English teacher.
From making noise, to ditching classes, to late attendance, not writing their homework’s and class activities. To locking up the door, burglar of their classroom and not allowing their subject teacher not to teach. This memories made him smile a little as he was trying to stay on a positive mindset. He arrived at school met one of his classmates, “Lucas”. Still trying to catch up on reading the drama and short story in their English textbooks. Were to write about the short story and dram in their examination. Lucas then stopped for a smoke break, lit and smoked a cigarette. Far away from their class and subject teachers. They never allowed them to smoke within the school premises.
Lucas smoked it and went to the other side of their school premises to enter the hall. Where he stood and waited for Tumi and their other classmates to get closer to him. They chat while waiting for the teachers or invigilators to open up the hall. After a few minutes the principal approached the Hall door. They knew it was time to start their examination. The bell rang and the learners started making way to their classrooms. Except the matriculants as they used the school hall to write their examinations. The principal opened up the school hall just as he saw some invigilators approaching the hall. The Grade twelve’s entered the hall.
Left their bags outside and went into the hall with stationary to use when answering their examination question paper. They sat according to their examination numbers and Tumi’s desk was two desks away from Lucas. One desk away from his cousin as they went to the same school and shared a class teacher and room. As always the principal started by reading out the examination rules to them. The district officials came into the hall to do a check up. Which was mainly using the learners identity document. To check for their student’s examination number on the examination register. With their teachers invigilating them not to cheat or go against the rules of the examination.
They were given examination answer sheets to use. When answering their exam question paper. The invigilators immediately distributed the answer sheets. With a register circulating for signatures and proof of attendance. They issued the question papers and then allowed them to go through them as the writing time was to begin in a few minutes. After a few minutes their writing duration started. The invigilators announced that they are to begin writing. That instant moment all learners in the hall had their back’s bent. With their face looking at the answer sheet. Question paper on one hand and a pen to use when writing.
Then all of a sudden a strange incident took place. Tumi was sitting at the back of the second row next to the end of the hall. A female teacher moving in-between the first and second row got too close and starred at him . As if he were cheating or copying from somewhere. She looked at Tumi and his question paper and answer sheet. He kept on raising his head to look at the female teacher. Also kept on looking at his answer thinking about why is the teacher not moving from where he sat. Or stop starring at him, it really made him a bit nervous and confused. Then the teacher made way forward and just after she walked three desks away from Tumi.
He felt his forehead vibrate hard. Then all of a sudden the lightbulb above the row Tumi sat in immediately exploded. The teacher was a little bit far away from it. It scared her and Tumi together with a few learners. The broken glass fell onto the floor with the other learning still stunned at what just occurred. The hall was now focused on the incident. They had stopped answering their question paper. The teacher then checked out the learner. Who was sitting next to where the incident occurred. The principal quickly noticed that the learners stopped writing. So he decided to urge them to get back to answering their question papers. Time was not stopping and soon their writing duration would elapse.
Tumi’s head was still receiving some kind of wave and vibrations. He decided to close his eyes for a moment and said a short prayer. The unexplainable vibrations nearly destroyed his teeth. He said the prayer because he felt weak spiritually. Tumi had to write his examination paper dizzy with his head still suffering from the vibrations. It worsen as he was so tired after writing his mid-year exam he could not travel back home. It made him to hate the teacher more as this was a huge sign of hate and witchcraft. It was as if the teacher had used the wrong traditional medicine. On the wrong learner who grew up in a family that went to church and loved God.
He then promised himself to say a short prayer when entering the school hall. He was so amazed at the scene to a point. That he decided to have it recorded in his brain. As one of the best experiences he had! To him it only proved that magic and witchcraft do really exist. If you are spiritually weak the world will destroy you spiritually and physically. Always do not forget to pray even saying a short prayer. Can change a bad situation into a good situation.
