The last days

It is a fictional piece. Any similarity with anyone, living or dead is unintentional.

Letter one
Dear Mary,
I have read your fiction that you wrote for me. It was a nice read. I did not like the ending though. Why must the ending be so tragic? Can’t we have a happy ending? I was literally crying after the first read.. It made me sad…...really, really, really sad. I felt sorry for the heartbroken young girl. Why did she have to suffer so much? It is not fair at all!
I highlighted all those sentences that I really liked. And there are a few of those. Thanks a lot for sharing this piece with me.
Love.
Jasmine

Letter two
Dear Jasmine,
I am really glad that You liked my piece. I received all your feedback and I will definitely think about that.
I hope that you are doing ok these days. Stay calm and stay strong. Life is full of tests and trials. God puts us through tests as God loves us and He wants to purify us through our hardship. You are a strong lady and you will be just doing fine. Have faith in the divine. Everything will be alright.
Love
Mary.

Letter three
Dear Mary,
This is Emelyn, Jasmine’s mother. I would like to convey my heartfelt gratitude for being there with my daughter during her last days. She loved reading your fiction that you gifted her. I saw tears in her eyes after she finished reading the manuscript. She was willing to draw a picture for the cover page of your story. She started working on that.
I admire the strength and courage of my little girl. She is getting matured through grief and pain, in front of my eyes. It is really hard to sustain. The life of my only daughter is going to be ended while we will be still breathing and living. I used to cry a lot. But I also ask for strength from the Almighty to comfort and solace her, so that she can have a peaceful rest of the days. She deserves that.
Thanks for all your care.
Emelyn.

Note: Jasmine is a little girl suffering from leukemia. She is an avid reader of my writing. Her days are tougher than those words of any fiction. But she took it okay. She took it with courage and grace.
I wish all the best for Jasmine and everyone like Jasmine. May the divine mercy be showered upon all suffering souls.
Mary
