The gymnast

Abigail gripped the beam and her hands were shaky. In spite of that, she pulled herself on the beam and heard a cheer from the crowd. Much was expected from her. Even though she was American she still felt the pressures from the Olympic team, her trainers and her country. Gold was the goal! The beam wobbled as she stood to her feet. She took a deep breath, and did a half twist and landed it perfectly. The crowd roared in celebration! Everone's eyes were glued on this one performance across the globe! She had a green scrunched in her hair to keep it off her face. She drew another deep breath and tried to focus. She did a split and her legs went up in the air. Her feet landed on the beam, but she had a slight balance check, after the jump. She tried to shrug it off and proceeded to the next jump. She ran fiercely and twisted in the air and her foot didn't quite land directly on the beam and she fell off. There was a sigh from the crowd. A moment of despair and tears filled her eyes but she realized she still has her dismount. She composed herself, took another breath and ran across the beam doing flips and flying through the air. She landed perfectly and the audience cheered and were on their feet! A smile formed on her lips and felt a surge of excitement!
