The Country Man named Tom

There once was a man named Tom who grew up in a country town called Pinewood and he never been to a city before in his life. He lived with his mother and stepfather because his biological father was killed by an alligator when he was a baby boy. His mother remarried a man who he didn't really like or cared for because he was very cruel to him as he was growing up, now he becomes a teenager, he said: "When I finish school I'm leaving and going to the city, find me a job, get me a room to live in and have a good time, never coming back to Pinewood again." So in the country, after school, he picked cotton, sometimes worked in a tobacco and watermelon field of a local farmer. He continues to save up his money so that one day he would have enough money to buy a used car or something. However, his stepfather was an alcoholic and made him give him most for the money that he saved up. So when he got paid, he never took all of his money home with him, because he knew his stepfather would take it. His mother knew that her husband was taking his money, but never did anything about it. Finally, he decided to leave home and go live with his cousin in order to finish school so that he could save up enough money to buy a car so that when he finished he would be able to drive to the city making his dream come true. He got his license when he turned eighteen the day before his graduation. He knew how to drive because his cousin allowed him to drive his old pick up truck. Now he finished high school, had enough money to buy an old used car and he is ready to go to the city, making his dream come true. He loved his cousin because he was very good to him and felt sad that he was leaving, but now that he is a man and ready to move on. His old car speedometer didn't work and he didn't know how fast he was driving and on the way to the city, he got pulled over by a state trooper for speeding. The state trooper said; "boy didn't you know that you were doing 85 miles an hour in a sixty miles an hour zone?" Tom said; "no sir, I got to get my speedometer fix, it doesn't work." The officer said; "well you will have to go before the judge in two weeks. Get that speedometer fix and you will not be charged nor any points on your license." Tom said; "Yes sir I'll do that!" Tom made it to the city, got him a place to stay, and also got a good job. Two weeks later, he made sure he got his speedometer fix before going to court and the judge dismissed the charges against him. When he was in court when the judge said; "let the court come to order," all he could think about was; "I am going out after court and order me the biggest steak that I can buy with this twenty dollars that I saved from the court, that's what I'm going to order." Finally, the moral of this story is no matter where you may come from if you set your goals and stick to it you will succeed because you are 'The FutureNow'. What you do NOW will determine WHO and WHAT you will be TOMORROW. This is my story and I'm sticking to it.
