Sweet Local Charity

“Instead of this I wish that things would just be a little bit more, I do not know how to explain it,” an innocently confused Diane London sat by the fountain the center piece to the artistic education area that was supposed to broaden the local youth’s mind to think in different ways resulting in coming to a mature decision.

“Yesterday the streets were alive with the sounds of the creative masses and now there is only me and that hot dog vendor over there. Not that the hot dog was a good inexpensive lunch, that did not break my budget and I got it fresh but....”

“But what?” Asked an older mentor whose shadow crept up on the well-endowed ballerina.

“I am now back in my sweats, back to being a seventeen-year-old student over there,” Diane pointed to the large building in the back filled with studios and classrooms, “but last night everybody cheered while telling me I was beautiful on the Charismatic Carpenter’s sponsored Red Carpet and now look at me I am just relishing on this hot dog.”

“You were exquisite, and you did everything I told you and my vision was displayed with true perfection,” the mentor stated with respectable grace.

“And on top of that we did this all for charity,” Diane stood up throwing away the wrappers.

“Yes, we were doing this to help other people out and donors marveled at your true talent as you performed.”

“So, it was a win win situation,” Diane concluded heading to the afternoon commitments.

After separating the two went in opposite directions only to reconvene inside the hallway where the mentor was welcoming his class back.

Now smiling Diane pecked the mentor on the cheek following a cell phone call, “I got the part, on the local dramatic television show.”

“And?”

Diane proceeded to strut into the class of six-year-old dancers all dressed professionally, “and a one and a two, we have a charity event this weekend to raise money for... “

Retreating down the vestibule the mentor chuckled, “raising money and trying to get that part on Kinderama.”
