Suz Prays for an Enemy
Hello, boys and girls!
And hello to the bigger boys and girls too!
Let me ask you a question — have you ever prayed for someone who wasn’t very kind to you? Maybe a person who hurt your feelings, or someone who just didn’t seem to like you?
What kind of prayer did you pray?
Did you ask God to make them kind? To help them do good things?
Well, today’s story is about a little girl named Suz who prayed for her enemy.
But this enemy wasn’t just any enemy.
Oh no! This enemy was the worst one of all — he was even God’s enemy.
Do you know who that enemy is?
That’s right — it’s Satan.
The Bible tells us that Satan only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. God warned us about him because he doesn’t want us to fall into his traps. Satan tries to steal our joy, the joy that God wants every one of us to have.
You see, the Bible says, “The joy of the Lord is our strength.”
But Satan wants to take away our strength by taking away our joy. He wants us to be sad, angry, and disobedient to God.
One day, Suz realised that sometimes she was acting a little like the enemy. She would get upset, say unkind things, or disobey her parents. That made her feel bad inside.
So Suz went to her room, knelt beside her bed, and prayed,
“Dear Jesus, I don’t want to act like the enemy. Please forgive me. Please help me to be more like You.”
Suz’s grandmother often read the Bible with her. Together, they learned that Satan had made his choice long ago. He refused to ask God for forgiveness and chose to stay God’s enemy forever.
But Suz learned something wonderful — God’s children can make a different choice!
We can choose to love God, to obey Him, and to live with joy and peace in our hearts.
Suz began to feel happy again. She knew that one day, God would bring an end to Satan and all the pain he causes. Those who choose to obey God and love Him will live forever with Jesus in a beautiful, happy place called Heaven.
From that day on, Suz stopped praying for Satan. Instead, she prayed for herself, her friends, and everyone she knew.
She prayed,
“Dear Jesus, please help us all to love You, obey You, and be ready when You come again. I want all of us to go home to live with You forever.”
And boys and girls, just like Suz, you can make that choice too!
You can choose to love Jesus, to be kind, to obey your parents, and to tell others about His love.
So let’s pray together:
“Dear Jesus, thank You for loving us so much. Please help us to be obedient and faithful to You. Help us to live with joy, to share Your love with others, and to be ready for Your soon return. Amen.”
