Somethin To Think About

I was talking with a friend a few days ago. We were talking about dreams and he told me about this dream he had. In his dream after we die We would all go to another planet, in another solar system and we would have the opportunity to live our lives over, hopefully to do a better job than we did the first time.

If you had the opportunity to live your life over, would you? If you have the opportunity would you be less of bully to that little kid down the street? now that you know how hurtful bullying can be. You thought it was fun picking on that kid because he was small and couldn't fight back. Until one morning you woke up and found out he killed himself the night before because he could not take it anymore.
Would you quit making fun of the big family down the street because they were poor and didn't have nice clothes? What about that little girl who thought she was in love with you. The one you avoided because she was not as pretty as one that you went after. The Pretty one would not even give you the time of day but that didn't stop you, you kept after her until her boyfriend beat you up.
What about when you had to decide between two jobs. You took the one with more money even though the other one would've been a better job for you. Would you take the other one if you could do it over?
When your Mother got old you had to make a decision to put her in an assisted living or take her into your home and take care of her. You opted for the assisted living because it would be easier on you and your wife. She died a lonely woman because you never had the time to visit her. If you had a second chance would you take your mother into your house and take care of her?
We make decisions all day long. Sometimes we make right decisions, sometimes we make wrong decisions, making decisions is a part of life. Some of our decisions affect us for just a few moments others affect us for the rest of our lives. God gave all of us the ability to make decisions for ourselves, with that ability we also have to take the responsibility for those decisions we make. It is unfortunate that in today's society many people refuse to take responsibility for their decisions and their actions. It's always somebody else's fault, they say. They are just a victim. Unfortunately I believe that most people, if they had the chance to live their life over on another planet like my friend suggested, would probably make the same mistakes and wrong choices again.
I saw a girl the other day, about six or seven years old. She was wearing a shirt that said “follow your heart”. I told her I really liked her shirt and that everybody should do that. She just smiled and walked on with her mother. If more people would follow their hearts this world would be a much better place. There are so many negative things on shirts these days it was nice to see something positive for change.
I am a Christian and because of that I know that what I do on this planet does not make a difference to what happens to me after I die. Jesus died on the cross to save us. He took our sins with him and he left him down in hell, then he came up and open up Heaven so that all believers would have a place to go when they die. Christians are not perfect, they make a lot of mistakes. Christians try to live their lives the way that Jesus wants them to, but because they are human they make mistakes just like everybody else. Every week when a Christian goes to church he has to ask God for forgiveness. He admits his mistakes before God, and if he truly repents God will forgive him. God knows we are not perfect that's why he sent his son Jesus, because if Jesus had not taken ours sins to the cross with him, none of us would ever get to heaven. Jesus is the only way.
For Christians it would not make a difference whether we had a chance live our lives over again or not. The only thing that would do for Christians is delay their entrance into Heaven and Christians want to get to Heaven as soon as possible so I think most of them would turn down the opportunity to relive their lives again.
