Solitude

She was lonely in her living home. The solitude made her partially mad. She was waiting for her children day and night. But, no one came to her. With huge disappointment, she was counting her days. Before she dies, she wanted to see her four children and grandchildren. She was always praying the god to fulfil her few wishes. But god was deaf in those days. After her husband's death, she lost her money. She was pushed by the owner of her office for her weak performance and many absences. Her four children were settled with their families, in different countries. They were writing letters to the old mother. But day by day they forgot her. She used to wait for Postman to receive the letters. But the postman used to shake his head instead of 'No'. It was the time of the grave festival. As usual, she started to request the painters to paint her husband's grave. But, she had not enough money to offer the painters. Due to this, all painters refused to paint her husband's grave. She was strong. She never cried, with the help of natural flowers she gave colours to the grave, and celebrate the festival. 'Christmas'! That was the time of real celebrations. Her sons were sending greetings on this day. The cards with bright colours, meaningful quotes, and different sounds were making her happy. That day also she was waiting for her children's greeting cards. But, never get the cards. She found it a time waste but didn't lose hope. She was still waiting till the next day begins. Everywhere she heard the sounds of crackers. That was the last moment of 'Christmas'. She did abandon the place and went home. With tears, she started to look at the previous year's beautiful cards and sang the song of Solitude.
