Sewer Kid

Okay so basically I was okay my ripstick at like 12:30. It was making a lot of sounds on my driveway so I decided to go onto the road in my cul-de-sac. I did a lap in my cul-de-sac and I began to hear a faint scream. I first thought that this was a baby screaming inside a house and I could hear where it was coming from. I made the decision to be a detective and investigate. I went down down the road to the house. After I got closer I realized that it may have been the box fan on the side of the house. I went closer to see if that was it. When I got closer to it, the sound sounded like it was coming from to the right of it. I got back on my ripstick and immediately noticed that the sound was in the same direction as the sewer. I stood there frozen wondering of it was a kid who was trapped or someone was kidnapping him so I got closer. It again sounded like it was coming from in there and I got scared and was ready to leave. I started on my ripstick, but ”not yet” said the detective in me. I went back to the other side of the sewer and I realizes it wasn't coming from the sewer. It was coming from the house on the other side. I went a bit closer since I couldn't go all the way to it. It sounded a little bit louder and again like a baby. I knew one of the families near there had kids so I determined that the case was solved. The only thing was that none of the lights were on and nobody was noticing this loud scream. This intrigued me. I also heard a faint water sloshing sound. My dad was coming home from dropping off a friend and I flagged him down. I told him about the scream and he said, ”it was probably some insect and I heard it when I was playing tennis”. I thought that was odd that it had come up twice so a baby was eliminated. I went with the insect idea. When I got home, I looked up insects that sound like they're screaming. My friends suggested cicada which, as I learned from a video, makes a humming noise. So this was not it. I then went on to animals. I looked that up and the first thing that came up was a bobcat. The sound was too stressed and I knew that wasn't it. The next one was a red fox. Under it in suggested was what does the fox say so I listened to that and then went back to the sounds. It ended up sounding just a bit shorter but still the same sound. I determined that this could be it. I decide to investigate further to see if red foxes even lived in Georgia. I was gonna look up red foxes in Georgia but as soon as I looked up red foxes it gave me an autocomplete of red foxes in Georgia. I clicked on this and it said they can indeed be found in Georgia. I looked up a map and Georgia was again in the region. I then went back to the first site with Georgia and looked at the general information. It said that red foxes can be found in forest, grasslands, deserts, and SUBURBAN areas. ALPHARETTA IS A SUBURBAN AREA. This was giving me more and more reassurance that the fox was making the screaming sound. It said that foxes live in dens during the breeding season and outside during non-breeding season. This was it. If it was non-breeding season that was it. I looked up when is foxes breeding season and there it was? Foxes breeding season was from January to March. That was it. All my hard work and bravery had paid off. The red fox made the screaming sound. There's still one thing that I don't know. The sloshing sound. Maybe there was some lake beyond that sounds that it was actually coming from. The fox was in the lake. This I don't know and will never know, but I do think and have evidence that it could be a red fox. Now it's over. I have went out on my mission and it has been accomplished. That was a thrilling experience. Going out on a ripstick at 12:30 to investigate sewer kid. Yes, I know it wasn't a kid neither was it in a sewer, but that's what I am going to remember it as. And that will also be the name is this book. Thank you for listening and remember next time you don't have the courage to do something. Think about it, it could be sewer kid. I learned something valuable about nature and now I know what the fox says. After a long day of hard and satisfying work, detective Neel is out.
