Phooey and the Art Theives

One day Bob Balouee came home from work and got his family around him. There was his wife Nana his son Phooey and daughter Tina. when they all got together Bob said “Let's take a vacation. How about 2 weeks in Boston”. they were all excited about taking a vacation. Nana said when can we go. Bob said “I just finished my case I am taking 2 weeks off, we leave tomorrow at 2 PM”. Nana said “I can't possible leave that fast. I have too much to do”. Bob said “You better get it all done or the kids and I will go without you”.

So with all Nana's hustling around and all the packing they made their flight on time. When they landed Bob rented a car and they drove to their motel. When they got to their room Bob said what should we do first. Tina wanted to go to the zoo, Phooey wanted to go to the beach, Nana said you forced me to work like crazy to make the flight I am tired. We will stay at the motel today so I can rest. In the morning we can see the museum. Phooey said can we go swimming in the motel pool? Nana nodded ok. So Bob took the kids to the pool so Nana could get some rest.
The next day they went to the Boston Children Museum. The kids had a ball with all the touching exhibits there. On the third day they went Havard Museum of National History. the kids had a great time with all the dinosaurs just at they were about to leave there was some commotion two men were running towards the side door of the museum with their arms full. Phooey followed. When Phooey got outside he hid in the bushes and watched the men put there stuff in the trunk of a waiting car and take off. After they left Phooey came back in and found his family just as the Security was asking if they saw anything. Phooey said he saw 2 men and he described them. He said they were going out the side door so Phooey followed and saw the men get into a waiting car and leave.
The Security said “can you describe the car?” Phooey said “It looked like my Grandpa Balouee's car except it was blue instead of green”. Bob said “My Dad has a 2008 Toyota Celica. White over green so the thieves car must be white over blue. Right Phooey?” Phooey nodded. “Anything else?” the Security said. Phooey answered “I have the license number too”. Security asked what is was. Phooey said “It was kind of a strange looking plate. It had a Fenway park sticker on it. Then F over P then the numbers 2431. Security said “That was a special Red Sox license the dmv issues. Anything else?” Phooey said “The taller man had a bad scar on his left cheek. Just a straight line down his cheek”. Security said “Would would know them again if you saw them”. Phooey said “The one with the scare I would, I didn't get a good look at the other's face.” Bob said “My son is very observant I trained him myself. I am a Private Detective on vacation but if you need any help we would be glad to help. Also I could probably work with Phooey and come up with a good sketch for you, I was a sketch artist for the police department in Redlands Ca. before I went into detective work”. Security said “We have them on tape we can identify them from that so thank you but no thanks. enjoy the rest of your vacation.”
After they got back in their car Phooey said “Dad I don't think they believe me”. Bob said “Son it is not that, they are not used to working with young boys especial one as observant as you. Let's have lunch then we can take in a movie. Tina can pick the movie”. Tina picked “Cars 2” so they looked in the paper and found where it was playing and after lunch drove to the theater. As Bob was looking for a parking place Phooey said “Dad I just saw the thieves they were standing in front of the drug store next to the movies”. Bob drove around the block to take another look and sure enough they were there talking to a couple of their friends. Bob found a parking place got on his cell phone and called the Boston Police and found out who was in charge of the case. He talked to the Sargent and told him the thieves from the museum were spotted in front of the drug store. The Sargent said he would send some officers to investigate. So Phooey and his family walked to the theater, got their tickets and went in. Phooey said “Dad I looked as we walked in and they were gone”. Bob said “I know. Let's enjoy the movie”.
The next day they went to Martha's Vineyard and walked around the island for a while and in and out of all the shops. Just as they were headed back to the dock they saw the one of the ferries leaving. Phooey said “The thieves are on that ferry!” Bob said “where?”. Phooey said “near the back by the girl in the swimsuit”. Bob said “I see them” and picked up his cell and called the Sargent and said “this is Bob Balouee again we just saw the thieves they are on a ferry going from Martha's Vineyard to Boston”.
They had to wait an hour for the next fairy back to Boston. When they got back to Boston the police were still looking around. Bob went to talk to the Sargent. Bob introduced himself and the Sargent said he was Sargent Green. Sargent Green said they just missed them the other day at the drug store. The store owner said they were outside his store talking for over an hour. They left 10 minutes before we got there. We got to the ferry as it was coming in. We talked to everyone on the ferry some saw the thieves but no one knew what happened to them.
Bob thanked Sargent Green and then left. On the way back to the hotel Bob told everyone what the Sargent said. He also said to give Phooey a big thank you and tell Phooey we will get them soon.
The next morning Bob said “I have a big surprise for you”. Both Phooey and Tina said “What is it?” Bob said “You will know when we get there”. So they got in their car and drove to the center of Boston and went up to the Hancock Towers. Bob said “We are going to the top of that building and look out over all of Boston”. They went in but found the the observation deck was closed. It had been closed since the attacks on 9/11. Bob and his family were sad. Then a guard came up and said he are truly sorry about the observation deck, there is one in town that is still open. The view is not as good as our but it is a good view. It is the Prudential Towers. Bob said do you want to try it. They whole family agreed. So they went to the top of the Prudential Towers. The kids could not believe the view. They could see for miles in all directions. The next day Bob said “Do you want to see the Big Green Monster?” Phooey said “What is that?” Bob said “That is the nickname for Fenway Park”. Phooey said “How did it get that name?” Bob said “Years ago some teams put up high walls in left field to keep batters from hitting home runs in left field. The Red Sox are the last one to have one. Years later it was painted green and became known as the Big Green Monster”. So the four of them went off to the ball game. Red Sox were playing the Angels. They found their seats and Phooey was looking around the park with binoculars. before the game started. he was really enjoying looking around. when he said “Dad!” “What Phooey” Bob said. “The Thieves are sitting over there behind the Red Sox dugout”. “Where” Bob said. “They are 4 rows above the dugout about in the middle”. Bob took the binoculars and looked and sure enough he saw the thieves. Bob got on his cell phone and called Sargent Green and said the Thieves are in Fenway park and told him what seats they had. Sargent Green said he would send his men over there. The Balouees really enjoyed the game.
The next day the Balouees were getting ready to leave and they heard a knock on the door. Bob opened the door and Sargent Green was there. Bob let him in. Sargent Green said “I thought you would like to know what happened yesterday. We had police at all the exits so there was no way they could escape. We couldn't do anything during the game because we didn't want innocent people to get hurt. So we figured we would watch them and when they were alone we would grab them. We had 2 people watching them the whole game and we were able to follow them every time they left their seats. When they left we followed them to their car and arrested them without any trouble. It will be just a matter of time before they tell us what happened to the artifacts they took”.
Then he pulled out a pendant and handed it to Phooey and thanked him for keeping his eyes open. The pendant said (Boston PD honorary police officer). “The museum had a reward for the capture of the thieves in the amount of $1000 it is your also” said Sargent Green. Bob said “We will put that into your college fund.”
