Once Upon a Knight

Introduction

The timeline for this story occurs before the events of the Ancient Power Files and the Dragon Life. I, Dr. Jaggi, have been a researcher for a few years since I left college, said Rachen. During my courses, I have been accustomed to looking at everything through a skeptical lens. Speaking from a mind of pure research, it is difficult when the people I have come to love (Alma, Latoria) differ from me in their viewpoints. A smile is a form of beauty that is only understood by the hypothalamus. Why does everything seem incorrect, yet the public believes it is the truth, with no significant data? This is a question I have always asked. It is better to be a researcher than a participant unaware of the researcher’s true intentions. Of course, we all live in the world of B.F. Skinner box. At times, we act in the manner of Pavlov’s dogs when we see a stimulus that makes our mouths and hearts water and feel heated. Of course, the heart is affected by the external and internal actions experienced and presented by the brain. Possibly, the eye of the mind’s eye. The commonality of IQs is folly; they measure nothing and are merely a correlation of nonsense. Gardner believed in multiple intelligences. This is a theory worth diving into, since paranormal psychology is a field that teaches people to be skeptical of beliefs and to conduct applied research on the spot if necessary. The goal is to debunk commonalities from the unexplained. Everyone, listen to my tale as we go back to a time when a troubling event occurred in my life. The event started at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. So, I submit for the approval of the Witching Hour Society, I call this tale, ‘Once Upon a Knight.

“Dr. Colfax you have been a well-respected scientist and researcher from Regis University for years. Sir, why have you decided to request that a special program in paranormal psychology be created at the undergraduate level? Surely, you could have taken a few students and had them do an independent study in the area or we could have just approved a course to be taught in the area”, said Dean Walters, the chair of the Regis College of Professional Studies program.

Dr. Colfax was a bearded man in his early forties and had been a researcher in paranormal psychology and homicide patterns. He was a man who could walk into a room and start a conversation with a shy first-year student. That was how I met Dr. Colfax, the professor who would encourage me to think and conduct research before believing in anything. This is a story of how I met the professor and my travels with Dr. Colfax.

Dean Walters: Dr. Colfax you have been silent for quite a while, answer me on why I should create a new special program within the department of psychology, what is your purpose?, said Dean.

Colton: Walters, the general concept of psychology is a good start for any budding psychologist. Still, we need to realize that the students are planning to enter a field that is becoming saturated, and that they need to look at the bigger picture of what they can do with a psychology degree. If a student graduates with a specialty, they may pursue that specialty or look at another field. Paranormal psychology can lead to understanding the modus operandi of serial killers, terrorists, and cult leaders. Some of the serial killers claim that they are instructed by other paranormal figures to perform their duties, said Colfax.

‘Colton, the plan for this program you propose would need an instructor to overhead the program and the recruitment of instructors. This university does not have time to create the program within one semester and where would we find the resources?’ The time to find these resources is great for the university.

I have a program already in progress for the course, and it requires instructors. The beginning level courses will be taught by Investigator Gemma Kim. The course advisor and research lab instructors will be taught by Drs. Sandra Brett and Belle Hadley. I will be the program director and teach the courses in Paranormal Psychology and Cult Psychology.

Ordinarily, the thoughts are the only things I am presented with when it becomes a subject of interest to professors. This is different as I am not used to being given information that could contribute to the university in a manner readily available. Colton, it looks like you have thought this program out. Are these people ready to teach in the coming fall semester?

The faculty is ready and has already created their syllabus. The only thing holding us back is you at this moment. Will you give the go-ahead for this program?

Colton, you have my permission to start this program. Let’s hope we can create a graduate program within a few years of this initial launch.

That is my plan, as we should try to keep the students here and ensure they are prepared for their future careers.

I hate to doubt and disagree with you, Colton. You always have a point that directs the thinking of this university. You want students to come to this university for the education you received from us during your graduate program in criminology. The students here owe you a great deal of admiration and respect. If the other faculty members were to think in the same manner you do, then I would have helped launch a Regis University campus in Pueblo. I would have called it Regis University at Mount Carmel.

If the program is successful, that may be a goal for our next embarkation. Let’s pray that this field is more popular than the business programs.

PArt 1 EMbarkment

Colton, we have the material for each course in the fall; we just need your approval. Also, Dr. Brett would like you to come into the lab. She has a new invention to show you.

Ms. Kim, it would be my pleasure to approve the material. Dean Walter has given the program the go-ahead, and all we need is for the students to be committed. So far, there are 40 students ready to go in the fall. What does Dr. Brett have to show me?

I am quite unsure; she said that it would be a discovery and a possible way for people to see into the past without disturbing it. Sir, I find this to be exciting. In a way, this can help lead into newer fields of field research.

Ms. Kim was 5 feet even with a slight athletic build, 36C, Size 8, Size 39 shoes, mid-twenties, and sunflower hair in a ponytail.

Well, let’s go see her. It is time to embark upon this field of new discoveries. I see positive events in the future of our research and for the benefit of the student body. Well, we have wasted enough time here, let’s go.

[Dr. Brett’s Lab – Regis University]

This is a great day to test the invention's research with a new subject. The pilot test of sending an animal into the field was beneficial, as the animal did not experience any complications during the experiment. In addition, the follow-up experiment was positive as the animal did not show signs of physical or mental trauma. This invention is the gateway for future studies. Still, it should only be available to final-year researchers.

Dr. Brett was a female in her early thirties. She was a woman with desirable attributes (32B, Size 8 jeans, Size 41 shoes), (strawberry blonde hair with a waterfall braid on one side, and straight on the other side. She had doctoral degrees in Biopsychology, Clinical Psychology, and Psychiatry (M.D.). All of this education had taken her ten years to complete after high school.

Today would be the day she would reveal her discovery to Dr. Colton for approval of her research into the psychology of the past as it relates to world leaders.

Sandra, how is it going? I feel like we haven't seen each other in a long time. We really need to have dinner together. After you show me what you want to show me, let’s have dinner. How long have we not seen each other?

Ah, Colton, you are so sweet. Someday I am going to marry you. So far, my love has been about three months since we last saw each other. While at CSU-Pueblo, I was constantly teaching courses and dealing with my own research. They do not have a program in paranormal psychology. When I brought the issue to the dean of CHASS, she stated that funding for this new program was overshadowed by funding for a biopsychology field and a master's program in sociology. I was glad when you called me, since we have not had a chance to be together. I feel that when I took that job a few years ago, we were stretching our relationship as colleagues.

(While holding her) Sandra, no matter how far apart we are, I will always have you in my heart. I want you in my life. I need you in my life; you complete me, my love. I will never stop loving you. We have both dedicated our lives to research and assisting students in reaching their potential.

(Kissing on the cheek) Colt, being together with you helps me complete my goals, and I know it does the same when I’m here. We are soulmates (kissing lightly on the lips). After I show you what I want to show you, we will have dinner, my love (kissing on the neck).

Honey, you are beautiful and intelligent. Not to mention physically beautiful. So, Ms. Kim stated that you had a new invention which could change the way we do research.

Yes, this machine is a booth within a room. The booth allows the researcher to see into the past without disturbing anyone. Simply, the researcher gets inside the booth and types in the coordinates into the system. Of course, the coordinates can be typed from the bridge or the operating station outside the room.

So, if I understand correctly, this machine will transport a person into the past. Are there any concerns about the past being disturbed?

Precisely, this machine will transport the researcher; however, the researcher will not disturb the past. This machine travels into a parallel dimension of time. Quite similar to how people see some paranormal events as actually just triggered memories from the earth. The past is protected from intrusion since the booth is independent of the physical space of the time. The researcher can go out and observe people in a real setting. The exception is that the researcher will be almost like a hologram, similar to the TV show ‘Quantum Leap.’

I like what I hear. You have outdone yourself, Sandra. I love you and your work.

Your admiration is great. I actually had a partner on this project. Belle Hadley worked on the physical making of the machine. I uploaded the case files on several historical events and my own research within my three fields. This submission to the mission enables it to easily pull information from other sources. The machine itself has a brain that records each researcher's information and how the data is presented. In a way, the machine is a giant workstation that does the researcher's work. Of course, the researcher does everything; however, the machine has an assistant program built in.

(Running to them) Colt! Sandra! (Panting) There you are…I have been looking for you. The machine is ready for field research. So far, the machine allows multiple people inside. It is important that you only take the materials needed for your research. Taking other items will not disrupt the past; however, this has been found to be true in only 95% of cases. There may be one problem that can be an easy fix. I just need five minutes.

(Sandra grabs her hand) How did you find this information, Belle? It seems quite interesting that the machine needs a fix after the few tests we conducted.

A test was conducted on the system, and it indicated that if a pencil were dropped into the past, regardless of the safety measures, there was a small chance of disruption. The disruption would be like some animal populations experiencing a 3% reduction over a period of 10 years.

(Sandra hugs her). Belle, this is some great information. We’ll take an electronic tablet to record the information. (Kisses her forehead).

Belle Hadley was a graduate student from New York University and CSU-Davis with degrees in History (MA), Physics (Ph.D.), and Engineering (MS). She was a woman of high standards and was desirable to men who did not hear her speak. Being in her Mid-twenties, and having measurements of (Size 38, 28A, Size 6 jeans), and Raven hair with red highlights.

Ok, my beautiful ladies, the Dean wanted us to test our research before we begin the fall courses. So, let us do this tomorrow. Sandra and I have a date. Everyone, play your cards right, and you may be part of a wedding.

[Cinzetti’s]

Brett: We have been colleagues for years. What is the next step for both of us, aside from our research?

Colt: The next step is for us to decide when we actually became a family. I know that your dad would like to have grandchildren, so they have my parents, who would like to have grandchildren as well. We have just been quite busy, so we haven't had time to talk to each other unless it's been about our research or our students.

Brett: You're right, we need to make time for us, that's why we're actually here tonight. I would like to set that date up sooner, and I'm only playing it calm because I don't want you to worry.

Colt: With you, I don't have to worry, as I do want to take that next step with you. I want to have a large family, as you do.

Brett: I would really like that because not only are we so close, but we are closer than our researchers.

Colt: After we complete our project, let's set the date 4 marriage.

[Lab]

Kim: Getting all this information for these cases was quite a challenge, as the source material is numerous, but making sure that it is factual information was more of a challenge, as there has been a large amount of fiction written on it.

Hadley: That's why we must do our best to make sure that we have enough information to give to our professors for a valid case when they go do this research with this new invention. They have only picked 3 cases to look at because there have been concerns that this pilot testing is not going well.

Kim: True if the results of the pilot testing are confirmed through our initial suspicions, then we should be OK not to bring anything back from the past that may not be needed for the present.

Hadley: What was the concern that we had?

Kim: The concern was that when you view stuff from inside the booth, you may come across parts of a timeline that can influence the future but do a present sense of time.

Hadley: What does that mean?

Kim: It means that the people in the past may see us and their timeline and try to influence events. Of course, this is all speculation as it is only the pilot test, and we don't think that's actually possible.

Hadley: I should hope not, because that would suck if the professors brought something back that was dangerous for anyone.

Kim: We could only hope that it all goes well, and that is the reason why we are here to help them get this research done.

Julius Caesar Murder

(Dr. Brett is sent here)

I read the set at all where seizures made his address to the senators. Not even history, they are presenting their case and making an excuse to have him assassinated. Buddhist and Cassius do an excellent job of being members of the crew to overthrow the emperor. What history shows is that each man hated Caesar for a different reason. Looks like they have attacked Caesar, and there's more to it than the attack itself. Indeed, I can see Buddhists actually hesitating to deliver the final blow to him. Wow, it looks like right before the blow, there was that moment of serious doubt and desire to walk away from the attack. Right next to the Buddhist statue, there is a shadow, but it's actually in the form of a toy and a guard. Now the shadow of that silhouette is moving towards me while the night is just standing there. What is going on here? Computers sent me back to the hub with Doctor Colfax.

Doctor Colfax has been given the notification that you want him to come back to the hub with you and get out of the booth. Be on standby, this should be a few minutes.

Jack the Ripper

(Dr. Colfax is sent here)

Wow I see the man is actually walking to his first victim as is pinpointing his location of how it happened during his first report a crime. Damn, I can't jump in, and actually, you help the person because I want to hear as a visitor, and it is a different parallel timeline that doesn't allow me to change history. Of course, I cannot change history as that is not my purpose here. Wow, right next to him isn’t actually a dark area that's darker than usual. Let's fast-forward to his final attack. Computers note that they have knowledge quite uncommon for a murderer of time. It's obvious that they have an extreme hatred towards women and that each killing has made him even darker in nature. Now it seems that there are dark spots all around him, and they seem to be moving, but in the so-called around him to glorify his actions. Why is he right in the street? I could see a silhouette of a man dressed in a Knight's uniform. The eyes are glowing red, and it looks like he is coming towards me as he has already left the Ripper. The computer sent me back to the station with Doctor Brett

.

Richard Crafts

Colt: Sandy, what's wrong?

Brett: Cold, I have seen the most frightening thing that could ever happen within the research. Are you seeing a shadow that should not have been there?

Colt: Yes, I have seen in the Ripper cases each time. Are you alright, honey?

Brett: Now that I'm with you I feel much better, let's get to our last case for the evening.

(Both are sent to the Wood Chipper Case)

Colt: Wow, that's quite interesting that we will see him, his entire planning of what he actually did when it came to His Highness crime. Seeing it in this detail makes your whole mind and body feel as if you're the victim. Comparing it with the case notes from the case files prior to seeing it, it is quite sickening to see that this guy even committed that crime against his wife. Doing that form of crime to anyone is bad, but even doing it to a spouse is worse. There was a special circle in the hereafter for people like him.

Brett: Indeed, it's taking all of my strength right now to not pass out from seeing what he's doing. It was wise for us to read the case notes about him before we saw this.

Colt: Uh, do you see that in the corner of the house?

Brett: Were you talking about that area that had a very dark shadow?

Colt: I am talking about that same dark shadow. Why do you ask?

Brett: I asked because I see it very close to him right now as he's committing his crime. It doesn't seem like just a normal shadow. It seems like a shadow, quite evil.

Colt: I see it too; it's just like the shadow and the movie ghost. What can we do to... We need to get out of here, and that shadow starts to creep forward more towards us.

Brett: Let's hit the apply button and get the hell out of here. It's scaring the crap out of me that shadow.

[Lab]

Kim: Professors, what's wrong? We could sense something inside the lab when you were doing the beginning of your research.

Hadley: We were afraid that we were going to lose contact and wouldn't be able to retrieve you.

Colt: Ladies, Dr. Brett, and I have some news for you about what we saw.

Brett: We saw a shadow in each of those cases; each time, it was in a different location.

Colt: This last part of our research, the shadow started moving towards us, and not the person. Inside that shadow were glowing red eyes and the silhouette of a medieval night.

Brett: With these cases that we looked into tonight, there was something else traveling with us.

Colt: Right now, it doesn't feel like we have anything except inside that actual booth.

Narrator: As the professors and their students were standing outside of the booth, they came upon a sudden draft of coldness in the lab. For the month of May, this is quite peculiar, as the lab was always warm. All of them looked inside the closed door of the booth, it was our site where the fight ended. They saw a night with glowing red eyes, growling with beastly anger. Before it disappeared, it spoke and stated, “No matter what you do, you can never win against the darkness.”

Part II Requiem

[Dr. Brett’s house]

Being with Colt was a great time, Dad. He is a gentleman and quite good-looking. Oh, did I say he was good-looking and intelligent? He made me feel like a queen and a princess at the ball.

Honey, he sounds like a great man. Anyone who makes you feel as good as I made your mom feel is good in my book. It sounds like he is doing more. Both of you are going to have smart babies.

Dad, I’m taking one step at a time. Haha, we have to speak about children. Let’s get married first.

Sandy, eventually, you are going to cross that path. Your mom and I crossed it twelve times.

Dad, I have to call you back. I have someone at my door. (Opening the door) No one is here.

[Dr. Colfax’s house]

Doctor Colfax was wise, taking a moment to draw conclusions from what they had seen in the research studies and the lab. At each critical point where they made a discovery in each case, they went back in time and saw what happened; they became part of a certain spectrum, and they would see a rise in the H murder case. It was clear that the only thing they had figured out was that each murder was based upon a person who had extreme lust and hatred towards the one hampering their motives. The final murder of Julius Caesar was the child of Caesar's wife. Buddha was motivated by his extreme desire for power and an unnatural love for his mother. Expire would love to write about that, and in fact, it's almost alluded to within the tragedy of Julius Caesar’s story.

The second research they had witnessed was the Jack the Ripper case. Sing to the eyes of the Ripper in white Chapel was like looking through the eyes of a demon, Benton taking women as a toy and not as a human. Each case the headband discovered was only a testament to the true nature of these sadistic actions.

In the case of Richard Crafts, it was apparent that they wanted only to control their family and not be accountable for their actions. Their idea of living was meant to be in a manner of control and to appear goat-like.

While doctor Colfax was contemplating all of this he heard a knock at his door, it had been an hour after he had spoken with Doctor Brett and before she had called her dad. At the front door, there was an early silence coming from the street, which was quite this way at this time of night, as it was usually a busy time. Once the door was opened, Colfax did not see anything with his eyes, but he could feel it with his spirit. Once it could be felt, the presence manifested itself, and it was a night in armor with glowing red eyes. It was the same set of glowing eyes I pressed the head bin scene and each time traveled case. All at once, the lights flickered in the streets and within the house.

The following morning, Miss Haley had happened to go to Dr. Colfax’s house and see why he had not shown up for class at night. She discovered that he was not home and that the door had been opened. There have been no signs of a forced entry or foul play. The only thing she found on the coffee table was a note. On this note was the following phrase: the king has been checkmated by the taking of the queen.

A phone could be heard ringing within the House of Doctor Colfax. Miss Hadley picked up the phone and responded with the common greeting at Doctor Colfax’s residence: "This is his research assistant, Miss Hadley, speaking." At the other end of the phone was Doctor Brett's dad. He asked where Doctor Colfax was. It's widely reported that she did not know, as she had just walked into his house, where the door was open, and she decided to read the note to Mr. Brett. Mr. Britt responded that it is the same note that I found in my daughter's house. The only difference is that the food is first given to the queen, the king's weakness. Little dead bolted and knew that each note was written in a script that was only seen in medieval times.

[Back at the campfire]

Time is an illusion, as one sees it differently from the other person next to them. The problem with perception is that we are not trained to perceive the world. We simply jump to conclusions. This story was about two researchers who have been in love for years. In addition, it was about an event that brought them closer together. Today, they are both respected researchers and professors at Ohio State University.

So, guys, what do you think about this story?

It definitely meets the approval of the Witching Hour Society. You are now a member of the group.

Group members: Whatever happened to the professors?

Storyteller: Some tales are better left unsaid.

GMs: No, we really want to know

Storyteller: The professors are still alive, but the place they were in was quite different, as they're both waking up in a forest they contain mysteries only they could solve. This forest is known as the suicide forest in Japan. How they got there, they do not know, especially when there's no record of them getting a flight 2 Japan. Maybe they are both in the dream state; when she had to speak to a professor again, no one was to be found until she looked upstairs and found the professor on his bed, looking very exhausted. That is the table for another time.
